D&D was a fantastic cartoon that sadly did not run as long as it should have (25 episodes) compared to other 80’s cartoons.
I really loved the cartoon but I think its biggest disadvantage was the toyline. The toyline was great interms of sculpts, articulation and accessories…dare I say it in those areas they were superior to their Thundercats toys!
But the biggest problem was the fact that none of the main characters from the cartoon were made in action figure form.
Thinking about it I think the characters in the cartoon were supposed to illustrate how the children were supposed to immerse themselves in the D&D world and make their own adventures and characters with the toys on the shelves. If it was the case it was a good idea in theory but I think kids looking at the toys on the shelves couldn’t help but be disappointed not seeing Hank, Eric, Venger or Sheila etc compared to the kids who watched He-man seeing their favourite cartoon characters in toy form.
What did you guys think of the cartoon and toys?
I enjoyed the old “D&D” cartoon. 
Did you notice the resemblance to one of the toys in the current Lost Protectors action figure Kickstarter and a D&D character called War Duke? I think the Insurmountable Barbaricles was a nod to him.

I also like the nod to Stranglehold from Transformers, I used to have him.
