Since TC is pretty much gone and YJ is i guess canceled and I am still waiting for the Legend of Korra S2. Has anyone seen or herd of good shows to watch on TV or demand or anything . The only thing i am really watching right now is Toonami and Animation domination on Fox and the rest is just streaming online.
Justice League Unlimited is still on Saturdays on WB. It’s no Young Justice but it still does a good job.
A friend of mine asked this on her Facebook page. So I’ll give to you the same recommendations I gave her. Most of these shows are well into their runs, although a few have just started out. Either way, there will be plenty of time to catch up on what you missed during the break. Don’t know if you’re looking into strictly animated shows ore live action. But here are the ones I’m following…
The Walking Dead- Any nerd worth their salt watches this show. 'Nuff said!
Game of Thrones- Pretty much the only reason Ocelli and I got HBO. Well, that and Bill Maher. 
Doctor Who- The new season just started, and it’s nearing its 50th anniversary!
Supernatural- After 7 seasons, this show has shown no signs of slowing down or dipping in quality!
Revolution- New series from J.J. Abrams, Jon Favreau (director for the first two Iron Man movies) and created by Eric Kripke (of the aforementioned Supernatural). It’s set in a world where all electrical devices have suddenly and mysteriously stopped working. It just came back after a mid-season hiatus, and things look to be getting pretty interesting.
Bates Motel- New series on A&E that is a prequel/update of the movie Psycho, which deals with the early years of Norman Bates and his relationship with his mother, Norma, as well as the dark secrets being kept by the town they live in.
American Horror Story- An interesting show in that each season tells its own self-contained story, with some of the cast members coming back playing different characters. Both the first and second seasons have been very good, and all kinds of messed-up.
Switched at Birth- Kind of a guilty pleasure for me. The show is a family drama dealing with the families of two teenage girls who were accidentally switched at birth, one of whom is deaf. It’s surpringly well-scripted and acted, and is the only TV series to date that has really helped to accurately and respectfully depict the deaf culture.
Sons of Anarchy- A show on F/X about a motorcycle gang in northern California. It’s just a really cool and badass show. It’ll be coming back for its 6th season this fall.
The Americans- Another new show on F/X, this one about two Soviet sleeper agents posing as an American family in the Washington DC area in the early 1980’s at the height of the Cold War.
Once Upon a Time- Like The Walking Dead, another show that’s widely popular. Second season is just winding down.
True Blood- This HBO show is another guilty pleasure of mine.
Falling Skies- This show airs on TNT during the Summer months. It follows a group of freedom fighters after Earth has been invaded and occupied by aliens. The third season is set to premiere this June.
Warehouse 13- Probably the only show worth watching on SyFy anymore (unless Defiance is good). It’s about a group of agents operating out of a warehouse that stores artifacts that belonged to famous historical figures that have supernatural abilities.
Arrow- A new series on the CW based on the DC Comics character, Green Arrow.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- I was pleasntly surprised with this new show on Nick, which deflty blends elements of the '80s cartoon with those of the original Mirage Comics. Turned out to be way better than I expected!
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic- Yes, I admit to being a Brony. But this show really is surprisngly well-written. And you’ll probably get hooked on it too after watching a few episodes.
And that’s about it. Yeah, I watch a lot of TV!
Have to disagree. Justice League and JLU are for me the finest superhero shows ever made (along with the same continuity Batman, Superman and Batman Beyond as one whole superb packaged). And while I liked Young Justice I felt it never came close to the same sense of fun and appeal of those. Certainly I found the whole Invasion thing dragged on and consumed the show too much where I would have preferred a far greater variety of self contained storylines. Too many characters just felt flat and never really had their own personalities. As I said though it was good and it ended well but in some ways I’m glad it’s over too and I can say goodbye and thanks for the memories.
These are pretty much the only two shows I watch regularly these days. Arrow’s been developing well though still waiting for it to really hit it’s stride. I’ve always liked Who since I was a kid and even more so with Moffat in control and the superb Smith who saved the show for me after RTD’s reign became almost unbearable.
I’ve tried some other shows on that list but some like Walking Dead just don’t do anything for me. Supernatural I did watch for five seasons as it was my then girlfriend’s fave show but the sixth was so awful and devoid of any creativity it put me off wasting any more of my free time on it. I prefer to think it ended with five but that’s my own opinion.
Well, Defiance premiered a couple of weeks ago, and while it’s currently up to its thrid episode now, I really like it! To me, it kind of mixes up elements of Gunsmoke, Farscape and Babylon 5. And it it’s probably the first really good Science Fiction show that Sci-Fi has done in a long time.
There’s also an MMORPG that’s tied into it, but you can watch the show without playing the game and still enjoy it (I hear the game’s only so-so, and doesn’t have as much impact on the show as has been made out to be).
All in all, really good show and worth checking out.
