I tried to get us access to their home entertainment press site so we could get any press releases about the UK DVD’s and just got an email back from them now with this in the subject line: “Sorry you have no access”
and a completely blank email. How ignorant is that? Even the subject line doesn’t really make sense! Who wrote it? a 5 year old?
So don’t hold your breath for a repsonse from Warner consumer products either. I did try though guys, I guess WB just see us as nothing special and have no interest in us generating them free publicity. Assholes! :x
WB’s bottom line is money, so one would think it would care enough to make sure that its marketing campaigns utilize every aspect to insure top sales. This would include free publicity from fandoms of the various series and movies it chooses to spend money on to release. One would also think WB would not piss off the very people it wants to sell products to. It’s only a logical conclusion that if a business wants money, give the customer what he/she wants, not what the business thinks the customer wants. We have many examples and hints of this, ones showing up even before the release of the series on DVD was announced.
I feel your frustration. I wrestled with my own over WB’s lack of consideration, to say the least. I hear you.
They are understaffed, and they apparently pay their people peanuts… so the only ones that stay are the ones who couldn’t find better jobs elsewhere. The big wigs don’t care about fandom so this is what we get.
All I can say is that we shouldn’t take it personally, and we should try again once a week… borrow a trick from Andy in Shawshank Redemption
As much as I get peed off by rude behaviour such as you describe, Neil, I think Mark’s advice is sound, i.e. not taking it personally. I have to ask, though, who is Andy and who are/what is Shawshank Redemption?!

Yeah I’m just a bit annoyed at the way they handled the reply mostly. I mean most professional companies would send out an auto reply stating some of the reasons why your application was likely rejected.
But to send a blank email (in my opinion) is terrible unprofessional and very rude.
I’m not gonna dwell on it though. If we have to get our news from outside sources then so be it
I have honestly never seen nor even heard of the movie The Shawshank Redemption! :oops: Prior to last year I’d never been much of a movies person, and still don’t have a lot of movie knowledge - going to the cinema for the first time in the summer of last year, I’ve seen more movies in the last 18 months than I’d seen for the preceding 18 years!
Lol, I wouldn’t worry Chris, I only saw it myself about a year ago. Before that I tended to get the reaction “What?! You’ve never seen the Shawshank Redemption!”
