I used the word cra*p all the time and don’t regard it as offensive if used in the correct context.

It is technically considered a swear word - I’ve seen it censored many times. I have to say that it doesn’t offend me in the least, but then neither does the f-word - I’m very hard to offend with bad language!

I agree that crap is not a harsh word, and its used quite liberally even in a business context in Canada
As in: This data is crap; my lunch smells like crap; that vendor’s service levels are crap; man oh man is my job ever a piece of crap

I suspect it may be considered less offensive in US/Canadian terminology than in the UK - in the same way that in the US, the word “p*issed” would appear to be not as offensive as over here. FWIW, I think too much of a fuss is made about swear words, I don’t mean on these forums but in general day-to-day life - for myself I’d have no problems posting on a message board where the f-word went uncensored just because I’m not remotely offended by swearing, but I understand why we (and he-man.org, and other such sites) have a swear filter in place…

I always figure that “pissed" in the UK meant drunk. In Canada it means to be angry… as in "pissed off” about something.
Really? Everyone I know uses it and I don’t consider a swear word at all!
It means both meanings over here in the UK, again depending on what context.
