I would love to know wayne’s side of the story since he just stopped answering emails when I sent him the total with shipping (which i discounted a lot). SO let me know when you find out if he is still alive or just disregarding my messages.
Of course there are However nobody had taken any sides, so that statement is a bit redundant
I do agree that a deposit to at least cover raw materials should have been taken first though. I guess it’s a learning curve, if Liardice doesn’t complete the deal. However with this type of deal it isn’t your standard sale, since he hasn’t really scammed you. I totally understand your anger and you have a right to be annoyed, but unfortunately folks do change their minds about an item all the time.
If Liardice doesn’t buy the custom, hopefully he will at least apologise for messing you about.
I would say It was a scam because i did lose a lot of time i could have used making other things that sell. And it was aggred upon before i started the whole price and shipping. Therefore I would even say its a breach of contract. Mostly I just dont want this to happen to anyone else.
I had something similar happen to me at my senior art show. I had my artwork up for sale, and one of my pieces was priced at 200 dollars. I had several people who were interested, but one person had already asked me to hold the piece for a couple months for them while they got the money together. THey said they definitely were going to buy the piece but they needed some time. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Never heard back from them. so I have lost out on 200 dollars that I could have made that day. From now on, I charge a holding fee with my work.:sneaky: it was a learning experience - I’m a newly-out-of-college freelancer, and I really can’t afford to lose out on sales. It’s annoying when people don’t follow through on their end.
