Is the new series going to explain the difference between ‘Thundarians’ and ‘Thundercats’? We know there are/were Thundercats, ancient ones were mentioned, Claudus yelled out “Thundercats Ho!”
Were Lion-O and Tygra Thundercats at the time of the premiere, or were they too young? Was Grune a thundercat or just a general in the army? Same for Panthro? Was Jaga a Tcat, or just the leader of the clerics, same for Cheetara’s membership as a cleric.
Were Thundercats ‘nobles’ like in the OS and could make exceptions like in the OS with Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O, this time should be for Kit and Kat because they are of lower class.
Not sure, but as Claudus said that “it is now the thundercats that has to maintain this order” probably means all of them maybe are, or they might be replacing Thunderians as Thundercats or they are some high ranked warrior like the OS.
My best guess is that ‘ThunderCats’ only refers to the ancient band of warriors that defeated Mumm-Ra. So, currently, no one is a ThunderCat. If there were, I guess it would only be Claudus, Grune, Panthro, and Jaga, and I guess Tygra too. But they’re never called ThunderCats, so I can’t really tell.
Maybe the Thundercats were all those nameless warriors with bows and arrows, with Claudus as their supreme commander and Panthro & Grune the Generals? Perhaps the idea of Thundercats expanded from a tiny group of warriors to a huge military force, which seems on par with this Thundera being a stronghold.
Now Thundera is in tatters, so a new band of Thundercats will be created in the old sense with Lion-O as the new revolutionary King.
I think the ThunderCats are everyone who is wearing the red circle. If you notice, not all the Cats wear the red circle. The mob that Lion-O stopped from attacking the two lizards in stocks, no one in the mob wore the red circle. The kittens were not wearing the red circle. So if I were to take an educated guess, only those wearing the red circles have the honor of being called ThunderCats.
Though all the soliders and the first two contestants in the tree race did have circles. I like that theory though. it makes sense. Especially since when Grune showed his betrayal the first thing he did was take off his “circle.”
I think it makes sense that the military are “ThunderCats.” Even in the OS, the ThunderCats were not just nobles. When Lion-O returned to Thundera through the time capsule, he met two ThunderCat guards - they both wore the ThunderCat insignia. I think the ThunderCat “nobles” were the top ranking leaders of the people or upper class.
That’s right. Also, in the OS “Exodus” Panthro says something like “we’re the last TCs alive” or “this is what awaits to the last TCs alive” or something like that, implying there were more TCs (he didn’t say Thunderians).
I like this theory but I don’t think it would work for the OS in the OS one often got the sense that Thundera the planet was covered in Thundercats, leading me to believe that each species held it’s own lands, and the nobles were from each species. At least, that’s what I always got out of it. Remember the mutants came from their own planet. There was no reason to believe any other species lived on Thundera but the cats.
Thundercats themselves to me just meant those who guard the king. Those who gained strength and power from the sword. So when the new one started I took it that the guards, heck the military, were all Thundercats.
We’ve seen Lion-O get the glow, but the sword has activated twice now and none of the cats were power charged when it happened.
New thought, does anyone know what they are calling the riding beasts the cats were on? I’ve had two people ask me now and I don’t know.
