I haven’t had an issue with that. The only gender issues I have with the show are how provacative Cheetara and Wilykit dress, especially in comparison to how the guys dress.
I dunno Panthro’s outfit shows a bit of skin and isn’t quite suited for his fighting style I think. 
If anything, I think Cheetara’s choice in clothes is better suited for the style of fighting she does. It doesn’t need to show off as much skin I’ll admit but at least it’s suited for her fighting style.
I know this is going off topic, but I don’t know what the big deal is with Cheetara’s outfit. She’s not showing any less than a lot of professional runners do irl.

I agree with you, balgus. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if it came out that Cheetara’s outfit was inspired in part by those worn by professional women runners.

Why don’t we get the men out there to run in speedos? :sneaky: (No, I do NOT want to see that either!) Just because there are athletes out there who dress that way, or people at the gym, and people who really shouldn’t dress that way, doesn’t mean I’m ok with it. Jus’ sayin.’ My mind is not going to be changed. 
You mean Panthro isn’t showing off a ton of skin already? Hell, he shows more than Cheetara at least. I guess we know which character is meant to be the sex symbol in the series.
I’m hoping we’ll see something about Lion-O’s mother by episode 20 since in the OS (original series) this is when we first saw Lord Claudis.
I think it’s a good question to ask. I want to say that there was a queen at some point but she had probably died during Lion-o’s youth. It’s kind of a classic story element for any protagonist in any story.
The real question I want to know is how Thunderian society look at women as well. The show has already shown a divided society class, so it wouldn’t be hard to imagine a gender class issue as well.
I am curious to see how they will address this (if they do) in the show. We already know that the royalty has to be lions. What happened in the case of Panthera and Leo? And possibly Lion-o and Cheetara? Does the ruler of the Thundera need to be a full-blooded lion?
I’m guessing no because I’m thinking that lion genes are dominant on what type of ‘cat’ a thunderan will be. Of course stuff like hair color, fur color, eye color, etc. can be different.
Someone on DA and/or Tumblr draws some nice pieces that depict Lion-O’s mother. If a fan can come up with something that seems valid, why can’t the production crew?
Ugh. I find this so annoying. I think we’re over the missing parents era in kid’s material. Even Disney is bothering showing both parents in their more recent movies. >_>

Add me to the list of people who’d like to know if there have been any queens as the primary ruler in Thunderian history. I’d like to think sexism isn’t an issue, since they don’t seem to look down on Cheetara in any fashion, or have an attitude of “she can’t do this or that because she’s female.”
I’m guessing if there was a queen other than a queen consort, though, she would have to be a lioness in the bloodline.
I agree, Cheezey. I was thinking more along the line of a queen regnant than a queen consort, as Thundera would have seen plenty of the latter. And, yes, I was thinking of a lioness in the bloodline, which would make her an ancestress of Lion-O.
