Mannys intro may need some slight grammer editing as well in places.
I think we should use a scan of the cover Manny, if that’s possible? I think it would look better than using a photo of the 1987 cover.
We also need to get a scan of the cover to the 1985 Dealer catalogue and add that. I used the cover pic from the 1987 catalogue again, temporarily as a place holder so you guys can access the 1985 Dealer catalogue page link.
That all looks great, Neil - one thing I’d draw your attention to is that there’s a broken image link between the “1985” and 1987 catalogue images, I’m guessing that shouldn’t be there? Also, only if MannyC wouldn’t be offended, there are a couple of grammatical points in his intro that would possibly read a little better if altered slightly. Would this be OK, MannyC?
Any grammar that needs fixed should be fixed IMO. Im not the greatest with grammar so if Neil or Chris can fix the grmmar problems it would be much appreciated

I dont mind one bit to fix some of my grammar errors, and no need for my approval to fix grammar so long as the whole article is completely revamped. By the way Neil, the thumbnail pics of the 1987 catalog cover have been scanned and uploaded. I have also sent an email to Matt for the cover of the 1985 catalog
LOL! Unfortunately this never happened seeing as my PC completely died on me about half an hour after posting the Dealer Catalogues message on the forum
However the good news is that I’m now on a brand new PC that we picked up today from PCworld! It’s the Compaq model I was looking at on the internet. Thanks Celesta and MannyC for the advice (as well as the guys at he-man.org, Ash and Sword of Omens) I took all you guys advice and didn’t buy a new monitor. This monitor does work perfectly on the new PC and it saved us about £100!
It’s been a nightmare getting the internet installed on this new pc, but as you can see from me posting, it’s now up and running. So now back to business…
The broken image is meant to be there as it’s for the 1986 Dealer catalogue, which we don’t currently have. Hopefully we can put a ‘Coming Soon’ image or text there for now. Also no problem Chris about the text editing. I’m not the best at grammar either so I think your best at doing Chris. Once done, can you copy and paste the complete revised paragraph here? Then it will be easy to just remove the old text and then copy and paste the revised text. It’s easier than me manually editing the changes.

Well it’s good to be back (though I was only gone about a 36 hours! lol) However it seemed a lot longer since I’m used to logging on everyday as a rule.
That’s cool, I’ll get that done tomorrow - it’s my Mum & Dad’s 34th weddning anniversary today and so we all went out with two friends, and I’d planned to do some site work when I got back. However, our friends came back here and my friend Bryon (who’s a guitarist) and I decided to have a pick “just for half an hour”, which before we knew it ended up being two hours - we finally packed up at 1:00am! :yikes:
So, if I’m being honest, I’m a bit knackered to contribute anything meaningful to the site tonight - however, tomorrow I plan to edit MannyC’s text from that article, and also hopefully (time permitting) do some more work on the screen grabs for the Cartoon Section.

Only 10x more! Yep I’m now on 80GB (I was on 8GB before) However I won’t use it as I don’t really keep large files. That’s why I managed with my old pc for so long just fine
I’m still getting used to Windows XP. To be honest at the moment I prefer the set up and layout of Windows 98, but once I’m used to XP it should be ok.
Well I still don’t know for certain what was exactly wrong with my old pc. I’d like to find out. With having a new pc, I’m free to take the old one apart now and look at it. If I had the time I’d take up a course in pc repair lol

So far I only have Firefox installed to browse the internet. The FTP program and Skype should get installed later today or tomorrow.
At the moment I can’t use my printer or scanner My printer needs a new lead to connect to this new pc as the old lead won’t connect. I’m guessing all printers these days are connected by USB? If so then I just need to go out and get a new connector (probably won’t be able to do that until saturday)
and my scanner will connect, but the software is designed for Windows 98
Can I use that software on XP or if not, is it possible to download some new software to get my scanner up and running with Windows xp? My scanner is the Mustek 1200 UB I wonder if the Mustek site can help me?
As for a re-writer drive, yep this new pc does have a DVD re-writer drive. However I haven’t a clue how to use it yet as I’ve had zero time to read the instructions manuals on the pc. Noticed they are the actual computer these days rather than receiving them in printed form. I have to say I’d have preferred them in print form. So if your still able to burn it to CD for me Chris please do! I’m happy to pay for the disc and postage.

LJN’s toy catalogues concentrated mainly on their actual toy lines as opposed to the many video games that LJN produced later on. It is unknown exactly how far into the future LJN kept producing their dealer catalogs - they are known to go back as far as their 1970’s toy lines and it is speculated that they were still being produced into the late 80’s, with 1987 thought to possibly be the last year of the toy catalogs, due to LJN venturing heavily into the video game industry in 1988. [LEFT]Dealer catalogs were extremely important because they gave dealers an inside look at new toy products and upcoming toy lines, as well as providing case ratio and assortment number information for the different toy lines. LJN dealer’s catalogs are extremely hard to find, especially the catalogs that concentrate on the more popular toy lines like Thundercats, Tigersharks, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, the A-Team, and so on. The LJN catalogs for the years of 1985 and 1987 are special, because they contain information on one of the greatest toy lines of the 1980’s: Thundercats! These two catalogs contain pictures that would excite any Thundercats toy collector - pictures like an unproduced Mumm-Ra with cape, the unproduced Rampager (and Lunatak) Red Eye, and the much coveted Feliner, which was never produced but is known to exist in prototype form. Other unproduced vehicles displayed in these catalogs include the Luna Tacker, and unreleased Berserker figures Cannon Blaster and Quick Jaws were also featured. The 1987 LJN catalog is probably the most coveted for Thundercats collectors because it features a great deal of unproduced and never released vehicles and action figures. LJN had many great ideas in store for the toy line, all shown in the 1987 catalog, but unfortunately that year was the last that we would see any new Thundercats toys. [/LEFT]

You know I’m not too good at editing and I don’t have a program at the moment to resize images. Can you resize them as thumbs as well? Basically re-size all 6 images to the same size has the main pics and thumbs of your 8-back cardbacks.
I know Kyle’s a bit pressed for time at the moment having just gone back to Uni this week, but I’m sure he’ll get that done when he can!
It looks fine except for two things that leap out at me - first of all, the sub-menu immediately below the header has one link to the side of the main header where I think it should be on the next line - can you see there the “Toys Home” link next to the site logo, which has forced the site logo off-center? Also, could I stick my neck out and suggest that for this phrase - “This is where the term -back comes from as it refers to the amount of figures advertised on the cards back”, you put the word “-back” in quotes, or maybe say “This is where the terms ‘8 back’, ‘14-back’, etc., come from, as they refer to the amount of figures advertised on the card’s back”. Otherwise I feel that the sentence is a little confusing - apart from that, that article is very clearly laid-out and very informative! I never realised that there were so many different ThunderCats cards!!
The mailaway offers page is perfect - except, did you want to add those two adverts for the UK fan club that were printed in the UK comic, the ones that got you so excited about the Stinger being in them! I know there was some debate in your mind about whether to add them to that article or to a different article/section (I apologise, I’ve forgotten which one!) - whatever you want to do with those is cool by me, I just didn’t want you to forget that those are there!

Kyle, I got the email, but it was made up of a load of mumbo jumbo. I thinking it got screwed up somewhere down the line when it was on the way to me.
What size do you need the thumbnails to be? If you can tell me roughly what sort of size you think they’d need to be (obviously retaining their proportions), I could take a shot at editing those images in Arcsoft PhotoStudio and see what the results are!
