First excellent comic book movie of the year, action movie and comedy!
For an r-rated action that is raunchy and gory, it delivered the goods with nice action with over the top excellent 4th wall breaking humor and nice performances. It’s like Guardians of the Galaxy does The Toxic Avenger and Riki-Oh.
Fox’s best Marvel movie since Days of Future Past and it looks like r-rated actioners are back in business thanks to the major success of Deadpool, Equalizer and Kingsmen and this can pave the way for more r-rated comic adaptations like Frank Miller’s Ronin and more as movies.
I hear that with the unprecedented success of “Deadpool”, Marvel are thinking of making the next “Wolverine” movie (Hugh Jackman’s last) also R-Rated. I wonder how that is going to turn out.
That is exactly what some of the people said on the page that carried that news! Without a good script, making it R-Rated just for the sake of it probably won’t do the movie any good.
I recall an interview with the director of the live action MOTU movie and he said he was limited by what he was allowed to show on screen because of the toys…but he said that Mattel changed their mind later on and said he could do what ever he wanted if he could make the film a financial success.
I finally seen Deadpool and it was an awesome movie. Very enjoyable. I can’t say how accurate it is to the comics as I haven’t ready any of his…aside from one Spider-Man comic that he briefly appears in on two panels.
