it would’ve been a bit more believable if we were shown multiple flashbacks of the two through out their years interacting in a more intimate manner. i personally didn’t care much for the romance aspect of the story but i felt it sort of made the characters involved seem very unlikeable.

Surely she wasn’t out there for more than 12 hours, and i doubt Jaga would have left to to starve to death (also since they are based on cats they can go for quite a while without food). Tygra gave her the flower to help cheer her up, he had no way of knowing it was magical. As for my point in my post was that it seemed from the show and Norton’s response that Tygra giving her the flower (since she was about to give up on her dream) “got” her the job instead of her sitting out with no help whatsoever to endure until Jaga decided she was patient.
@Balgus: But we haven’t seen/heard about any of that in the show, and is that even considered canon to the show? If it is (since Norton isn’t the main writer for those episodesi don’t think?? correct me if i’m wrong) then couldn’t she have worked up the courage then? There was not the Clericy stopping her, or Lion-o around…and presumably the Clerics are allowed relationships, since she’s still a Cleric after Thundera fell…
Its been a while, so I may be off on this. How do you know Tygra didn’t know about the flowers nutritional value?
Even if he didn’t know, Tygra gave her a flower that helped her out on those steps. It still doesn’t change the fact that his generosity helped her out of a horrible situation. Apparently her romantic affection for him started there. Nothing odd or unbelievable about it.
Also, to kind of ride along what Dan said about people helping you when you’re down. When you feel like the world is crushing you flat, something as simple as a ..“don’t give up, keep fighting”, or a smile can make a huge impact on your perspective. No it doesn’t erase all your troubles, but it can help.
We don’t know how long she was out there ( she says it gave her the strength to make it “one more day”) , but its implied that she was hungry and that the flower gave her the strength to keep going. No, no one thinks Jaga would have left her out there to die, but for all Cheetara knew it was exactly that.
Would it make her more or less patient if she was waiting while on a full stomach? At the time she ate the flower, she was hungry and weak but still sitting on the steps. Seems pretty darn patient to me.

She says during those DAYS she was tested by Jaga. Cheetara was out there for days, and seeing as she is presented as a poor orphan, who knows when she last ate. Yeap. That’s pretty darn patient.
There is a difference between giving up because you just don’t want to wait any longer, and giving up because your body is shutting down. I still think its pretty unfair to ignore the fact that she was out there for days without food or water before Tygra gave her the flower.
Creators release information post series finale all the time. Sometimes they don’t care to show it, other times they don’t get the opportunity.

They took a big risk. It kinda flopped and now that a 2nd season is out of the question,it’s going to just stay that way 
From Dan’s post, I get the impression Cheetara’s focus was going to come into play more heavily during the 2nd season. Which as Balgus pointed out, might just be where they were going to give us a more in depth look at her relationship with Tygra.
More question would have gotten answered. Maybe even why she waited so long to let Tygra know she had feelings for him.
It looks like maybe we were suppose to be a little suspicious of it, but as the 2nd season progressed it would have made more sense. Whether or not people accepted it is another issue.
They would’ve went more into Cheetatra’s backstory in the second season. Dan mentioned something on Deviantart (no specifics) about her carrying a lot of guilt about her past.
Well with SDCC just around the corner, it’s too bad there is no word of any new Thundercats…Merchandise or Cartoon related products. A silent year for the cats, unfortunatelly.

Funko has acquired the ThunderCats license. There might be something shown at the show. I believe they’re planning a late 2013-early 2014 release.
I simply just don’t want ThunderCats – as a franchise – to fade into the background again. 
Funko? Oh, c’mon! We need some proper action figures for the original show, not some superdeformed art figures again!
Release some real action figures and then some people could as well buy novelty figures. Bobble heads alone? Nop!

After the mess WB made of the NS I think I would prefer WB to just leave Thundercats alone, rather than continue to butcher it.
The majority of Thundercats fans just want some Classics figures. If WB can’t do that they should leave it alone.
Since the NS was great, I’m hoping WB announces that it’s letting another network air it when the rights revert back to them at the end of the moth, and/or a DTV to continue the series, or at the very least a new comic series, but I find the chances of any of those happening unlikely.

I’ve started watching again the NS episodes. No doubt they are great. From strorytelling to artwork the NS was top-notch, yes there were a few drawbacks like the episode 3 ‘‘ramlack rising’’ but the overall quality of this new show had so much potential and the second season would be so much exhilarating. In season 1 they paved the way for some great things to happen, Lion-O would finally start to be more like the OS represantation and the team would get along. Too bad the producers and WB didn’t handle the property as they should, we’ve talked about this plight in the past,but it has left us all with the gripe that despite the 20 years of waiting, Thundercats are yet again in the fridge…

just watched some video reviews from the SD comicon. so jealous of the MOTU booth and all the upcoming figures, castles, accessories, fan voted figures, etc…thundercats need to be acknowledged and represented in a classics line like that…my hat goes off to Mattel…
Ive probably mentioned before on here, but I cant even imagine how amazing it would be to have a classics line that would put out as many characters as Mattel is…getting Lunatacs or Berserkers…I would pay ANYTHING to own them…
I think one really big issue is that ThuncerCats is sort of an “orphaned” franchise, if you will. A lot of the big successful 80s properties are still owned by their original parent companies, and most of those happen to be toy companies, Mattel and Hasbro in particular.
But Thundercats was created by Rankin-Bass and then sold to Warner Brothers. Neither of those are toy companies, so Thundercats has always had to be licensed. It may technically be a Warner Bros. property, but no one identifies it as being iconic Warner Bros. Warner Bros. does well with DC properties since they’ve built a strong relationship with DC Comics over the last couple of decades, ever since Batman the Animated Series.
The sad thing is, no company is really going to treat Thundercats like its their baby. Cartoon Network sure as hell didn’t. Bandai seemed to treat it a little better, but not by much. I do believe though that Warner Bros. was, for the most part, trying to treat the franchise well when the NS came out, but with Cartoon Network holding most of the rights for the last two years there might not have been much the WB could do.
So I’m really hoping that at the end of July, when the rights revert back to WB, it will allow them to do things with ThunderCats they weren’t able to do while CN held the rights. At least more than just selling nostalgia merchandise.

ure right bout the “orphaned” thing…Playmates just had some amazing TMNT toys forecast, more classics, vintage, and even movie … so jealous…If we keep making noise im sure eventually…could be years…but someone will pick up the thundercats classics line
The problem with the NS was the bad advertising and almost zero promotion, the low quality of the figures and the bad handling by CN. The show alone was very rich and interesting. By the time, Bandai and WB didn’t earn the money from the merchandise related products decided to kill it. Unfortunatelly, in this business it’s of paramount importance for the companies to gain profit from the merchandises and the success in the market . If the products don’t sell well, like in Thundercats case, whether that is Toys, Video Games or DVDs then it’s very difficult to continue for a second season.
In a nutshell, the Show was great but didn’t have the support from the commercial wares
