This is a custom Lynxana figure in honor of our own Queen Lynxana.
It is made with a five and a quarter inch (or so) WILD C.A.T.S. Zealot figure, plumber’s epoxy,Testor’s Model Master’s Acryl paint and a lot of sandpaper!
This was a weekend figure from part removal/shaving off molded features, sculpting to painting.
I am going to at some point make packaging and other accessories to go with the figure but I’ll post those in this same thread later before it goes to its final home.
that’s an awesome job, i like it a lot man. I’ve been more and more interested in customs but too timid atm to get into them. mind if i pm or email you sometime to bug you with questions? lol
Well of course you can ask advice too… but there’s tons of other talented contributors here too..like Rateeg! He’s made it into ToyFare magazine with his beautiful Tygra figure! Kylefromdirtnap makes great 'Cats, MOTU, AND Transformers customs!
As far as getting into customizing goes… anybody can do it!!! Anytime you go into doing something you’ve not tried before there’s a learning curve. But sometimes mistakes are more educational than getting things right the first try. All you need are the right materials and practice.

I don’t consider myself a ‘customizer’, just a painter. Copperkid: I was intimidated when I started, but you get hooked easily. And, if you screw up a $1 figure, who cares? Start with He-Man guys-they’re cheap, available, and easy to paint. Just use the right paint! (acrylic)
Can you believe the ‘dancing’ judges gave them such low scores? It’s not their fault they have limited articulation! I’d like to see those judges try a Samba with no knees.
Well I just cut all the molded stuff off the base figure and sanded, molded the features onto her with the epoxy let it set up then painted it.
I love (because its easier) working with that particular action figure because you can easily pry it apart with a knife and paint/sand the individual parts and do a more detailed job. The thing is that it doesn’t have the same scale of the LJN 'Cats toys unfortunately.
I might be able to wrangle up another one if you’re really serious about wanting one.
I made the packaging to go with my first (admittedly terrible) Mary-Sue fan fic “Darkslayer” where I put the Thundercats 20 years in the future of New Thundera after the last episode “The Book Of Omens”. Lynxana was such a great character I had to put her in it as well.
And here are Lynxana’s accessories. With the exception of the shatterdart purse the accessories that are featured came with the figure. Only adulteration I did to the knives and swords was cutting the hilts off the swords, painting them a little along with the knives. I also took the trading card that came with the W.I.L.D.CATS figure and making a Lynxana one with it. I would have shown all of you the back but I used a profane word in the bio and flies in the face of forum rules to display it.
I used plumber’s epoxy to fill in the holes of the display stand, sanded then painted the Thundercat symbol on it.
I hope you all like it. I might make a Mandora next with the Zealot base figure.
