Considering WB is shopping around the merchandising rights to both series, it doesn’t sound like they’re worried about kids confusing two different continuities into one. Do you think the new series is connected to the old, either the continuing adventures of Lion-O and gang, or (the one I’m placing my bet on) the adventures of Wily-Kit and Kat’s generation now grown up? Of course, this would mean we get to erase the continuity established in “Dogs of War,” thank Jaga.
I really dont think it woulde be the adventures of Wily and Kat’s generation. Even though they do seem like theyre younger than Lion O is truth is tha theyre actually older. It may be a continuation of the original episodes which IMO would be the best option for WB. I could really envision the first episode of a new series showing a little bit of a background from the very first few episodes and then kick it off from there
Oh, yeah! I definitely agree with Manny! I think the best option for the WB would be to just catch up with what’s been going on for the first few episodes, and then keep going. To be quite honest, I don’t really like thinking that people would change how Thundercats looks and feels… I dunno.
I agree with the continuation idea because it just makes more sense to go that route. Remakes almost never work (just look at He-man)
So if it is a continuation from Book Of Omens with an up to date look (similar to the animation on the new He-man cartoon) then I’ll be happy. I hope they try to keep the characters costumes similiar to the classic as in shape and colour, but just add a more edge to them.
If WB so that, then I think they are on to a winner. I guess time will tell…
I am all for a continuation. my only concern is that having them start on New Thundera, (which we do not know too much about) they may feel they have free lisence to go making up a great deal, and take it in a completely new direction. I think Thundercats was at its best on third earth. In terms of the look of the animation and character design, I believe a carefully updated look of the existing thundercats series would be brilliant.
I am sure they will get one aspect wrong, if they go ahead…what would we talk about otherwise:)
I’d be up for a continuation, I’d like them to get back to Third Earth though. Maybe New Thundera could be destroyed by Mumm-Ra at the start of the series, and they are forced to return to Third Earth, making it kind of the ‘Exodus’ for a new series.
But I wouldnt be opposed to a remake, and I cant see a continuation happening to be honest.
