Just a gathering of thoughts…but does anybody here think Bengalli possessed mind powers like Tygra’s…or NOT because he was a white tiger?
Are you kidding… he barely possessed the linguistic skills to over come his ever constant growling. :roll:
In all seriousness, I do think he might have possessed some mental ability, but to a much lesser degree than Tygra’s clan. Being that he was a commoner and apprenticed as a blacksmith… without any formal training, what little ability he might have naturally possessed would be virtually useless.
At most, it might manifest itself an occasion, simple mirage, or in some other form, akin to Deja Vu’

Its quite possible. Even though it wasnt confirmed on the cartoon, Tygra and Bengali are actually brothers. But yea, Bengali might just be too humble to actually want to tap in to all those powers. He’s just a simple blacksmith.
My answer to that is “perhaps”. Thing is, though I certainly agree that both Tygra and Bengali are full-blooded sibs, we don’t know what powers the white tiger breed of Thundera possessed. They may have been skilled craftsmen, as shown by Bengali’s blacksmithing talent, but even that wasn’t officially stated in the cartoon. So, who knows?:bengali: :?
If it wasn’t in the show, how do people know them two were brothers? something in one of the comics?
I believe its in the series bible, on early conceptual art for Bengali.

Yes. It was possibly a tease from the writers, or he might of meant brother as in ‘thunderian’ brother. But yea, chances are that WAS actually the confirmation…it was just so short and quick that people dont notice it.
An early concept did have Bengali as Tygra’s younger brother (the drawing and the notation on it are archived here on TCL). But the writers changed him into just another Thunderian of the tiger species, and therefore Tygra’s calling him “brother” simply meant Bengali was now a fellow tiger ThunderCat.:bengali:
I believe that when Tygra said “brother” that he meant fellow Thunderian tiger. I also believe that being from the clan of the white tigers, that he doesn’t know much about the mind powers (having been raised as a blacksmith and a commoner). I think that if he was taught, that he has something deep down inside that he could tap into.

I’ve never seen the ThunderCats Series Bible scanned and put online, although I used to know someone who owned a copy - from what I’ve witnessed, it would seem that placing a Series Bible online can carry some quite hefty legal implications, and I know that as such there was reluctance on the part of the person who owned it to upload it. I could kick myself now, as that same person once offered me photocopies of all the pages of the Series Bible in exchange for a tape trade, but at the time I couldn’t be bothered to make the effort - now of course I regret it big time! 
I would say that one of the most interesting elements that I remember him telling me from the Series Bible was that most of the ThunderCats originally had different names - the only one I can remember is that Lion-O was originally planned to be Lion-L, which of course sounds like “Lionel” (and also, when spelt as “Lion-L”, makes him sound like a Kryptonian!)!

If you check out the writing, it describes him as “Tygra’s Albino Brother”!

I have never seen that Bengali concept art before. I have always considered the line where Tygra calls him brother to be a fellow tiger. It is very interesting to see that at one point they were considering him to be an actual “blood” brother.
I don’t think he had mind powers.
I think not.
And I it has nothing with being a commoner vs a ThunderCat, but more with the clan itself. Panthro said in the anointment trial episode “The Tygra clan in Thudnera has very special powers” (or something in that line). If Benagli belonged to a different clan, he might not have the mind power despite being a tiger too.
Now, if they were brothers, then he might have got it as well, as he would be a part of teh Tygra clan (remember, white tigers are not a different species, jsust have a special trait (albinism or, more properly, melanism), like a blond kid in a family of brunnettes).
The question is: did Tygra have the power in the comics as well? Can’t remember.
I believe Ben-Gali was trained to be a blacksmith.
Besides, it would have been a really cold reunion to just put a hand on the shoulder of your long lost brother and call him that way. Wouldn’t an embrace and some tears would have been appropriate? Lol. We all know Tygra’s a rational and keeps his emotions for himself, but what about Bengali? Besides, I think the occassion was worthy a couple tears…

The stories in the annuals do refer to Bengali as Tygra’s brother.
The series itself doesn’t really make anything of it other than that one little thing at the end of HO! when Tygra slaps him on the shoulder and says “brother”.
I don’t think they are biological siblings. If they were, then there would have been more made of it the first time the two set eyes on each other. More importantly, if Bengali was actually Tygra’s brother, why wasn’t he on the flagship in “Exodus”?

I thin it’s just because they are both of the tiger clan. Besides I think the bigger question is why wasn’t there more than just eight people on the flagship.
