Just to clarify the post was removed by Manny, the email was sent by me. Manny rarely deletes posts as that is a moderator role, but if he deems necessary to delete a post before a moderator or me he will do it. He deals with the sitewide things while I deal mainly with the forums so thats why i sent the email.
On that note, posts that are deemed insulting will be taken care of accordingly and I will say that it will NOT be tolerated here. We are pretty relaxed here, and all of us are adults but that doesnt mean we can post a picture giving the finger to whomever it is. This is a first on these forums and hopefully the last. All we ask is to please be respectful when you post something.

Im going to step in on this one because taking a jab at Manny for being so called “competitive” is taking a jab at all the people that worked so hard in putting this website together, so with that being said this competition thing you talk about has been put to rest for a bit now so I dont know where all this comes from, sorry that you may still be upset for TCL coming online and being “competitive”.
If you think its competition, sorry but thats not what we are all about. This is a cartoon we all love not a business. We put the site together not to compete but to give people more of what lacked in the fandom. One group of people had a different dream and a different vision for a place to gather and talk about Thundercats and thats what we all set out to do, people are free to gather were they want to talk about Thundercats wether its here, EOT or ThundercatsFans so the competition argument is useless.
If you feel it is competition why dont you go talk to Purrsia, she will give you a run down on everything as she was part of our team at one point

Nick - you’re right. These older toon fandoms do ebb and flow. It pretty much happens to everyone at some point (Voltron has an official board that goes dead at times, even, so they’re not even immune), so I don’t take the lulls or others noting them all that personally Glad you found us and gave it a shot though.

As to general comments on this talk of competition…I guess there’s always been an undercurrent of friendly competition between the sites. Or so that’s how I percieve it. I mean, we all want active forums and visitors to come look at our hard work and effort, but there’s usually only so much fan base to entice. So that does entail some advertising and putting yourself out there so this is possible (put my site links in forum sigs of all kinds for years, for example, for just that purpose. It says, basically, ‘hey, this is here too. Check it out’). Even as long as my page has been around, some people are still just discovering it and that’s due in part to people linking me and passing on the word that it exists. Nothing wrong with that. That seems more than reasonable to me.
So I suppose if someone mentioned my site in an audio interview they were passing around, I’d be flattered and happy for the potential exposure it may bring. True, fan sites aren’t making any money but one generally doesn’t make a public site full of goodies and hours and hours of unpaid work going into it to put it there just the way you want it so nobody sees it or likes it! True, I have said ‘my site is for me’ and it is (meaning, I’m going to make the fan site I like first and foremost as it is my time and money into it), but it’s also public so that others might enjoy it as well. And I hope some do.
Still can’t speak of the interview in question as I have not listened, so…
Point is - there’s different sites. Some of the same material and such are on all of them. Other things between the sites are different as well, and the mood and tone of each site is more unique, so you’re going to attract some different fans. This is good because hopefully the webmasters are working on the type of site they like and visiting fans have a choice of atmosphere and presentation to choose from. TCL provides the, I supposed, more polished and clean approach which we didn’t really have before. It’s good for the fans that were looking for that, and it’s good for the fandom as a whole to have more venues, more choices. I know there was some disagreement on the wiki project at one time, but I still think there’s no such thing as too many sites; too many options.
Me, I’ve tried to be supportive and encourage everyone who’s not a jerk or entitlement pig in this fandom. Seems more beneficial to us all if we network, cooperate, and promote each other from time to time. And share great stuff so more fans can see it Most of all, respect for the other sites between site masters - even if some might seem lacking in some areas or whatever - is important because anyone who has put up a website, let alone one as large as the major TC sites are - knows it’s time consuming, tedious work that is both unpaid and mostly, thankless.
I have not tolerated people who do not realize this well, even for ‘old’ or ‘crappy’ sites (opinions are great, and everyone has preferences, I’m just saying - appreciate the effort even a crappy site took, etc), particularly those that swagger in figuring they’re going to whip up the bestest site evah. Those goofballs so far have always failed. And is it any wonder? The tcats fandom is full of dysfunction at times, but the core of it is like a family and we stick up for one another. Some loyalties run deep, particularly among site masters. It’s ok to be proud of one’s work - and I think most of us handle this well. We can even hold fandom awards and take the results in stride without wars erupting! That’s awesome.
That said, I don’t think TCL has anything on that front to worry about anymore. Yes, I’ll mention briefly that at the very start, there was skepticism and annoyance - from myself included - aimed at TCL.org based on some of the smack talk in threads at heman.org about the idea’s inception…that has long since been clarified and as Manny C pointed out, I’ve talked to and worked on the team quite a bit in the years that followed and it’s not as bad as all that.
Manny is one of the sweetest people I ever met in the fandom - and one of the most humble site developers, too. And everyone knows I adore Chris, bonded as we are in the art (haha) of the marathon post! I could go on.
Anyway, in the last year in particular, I don’t concentrate on the drama and the other stuff as much anymore. If there was anything lingering that was bothering me about fandom, it doesn’t much anymore. :shrug:
Let the competition remain friendly and may the fans win by having the most choices and the most fun.
