Ok guys here it is the banner tha we can use for the front page and forums. I think it is a bit too big but it can be resized. Also they have given us a dedicated referral link that way they know which of our members sign up over there and when they post an auction we get proceeds from the fees.
Can I just ask… when did we as a team, or MannyF as our site leader decide that we’d endorse this partnership with Collectica?
I personally do not see the value of this partnership, and I say this admittedly with some ignorance about their “recognition” on the net as a decent site.
I thought we’d left decisions for partnerships like this with MannyF… so as I asked before but never saw a conclusive answer as to why we’d do this…
Why is this partnership of benefit to our site? And to what extent do we benefit?

K cool Manny, sorry but I just want to be clear, I’m not concerned about using Collectica, just wanted to be sure that we’re following the way we said we’d handle these things… because I believe we agreed it would be your domain to make these partnership decisions. Collectica may be a huge boon for us, but I have no idea.
I don’t remember agreeing that…I thought all decisions recieve a team vote and the majority of the vote wins?
As for the partnership deal, didn’t we have a vote on it at the last team meeting and decide to give it a go? I swear I remember us agreeing that MannyC would email Collectica to confirm this?

To be honest, I don’t remember it even being as cut-and-dried as that - speaking from personal experience these things tend to be approached on a semi-casual basis, with the team discussing issues and a general consensus emerging, with MannyF the man to make a “casting vote”, if you like, in the event of a deadlock. That’s the way I’ve always seen site-wide things approached (unless it’s a decision pertaining to a particular section, in which case the person whose section it is obviously makes the decision) - FWIW, it’s an approach that sits well with me personally, as whilst I think there needs to be someone who can make a final decision if need be, having all the team provide thoughts on site-wide issues fits with the ethos this site was built around.
Nope, that is indeed what we agreed at the team meeting we had on this, which you, both Manny’s, Kyle & myself were all present at, along with two representatives from Collectica itself.

Here are the terms of the Collectica deal:

[li]The partnership will go on a 6 month trial to see whether or not we get anything out of the deal. What we are looking for with this partnership is increased interest in toy discussion on the forum, promotion of TCL as a whole, and funding for the site. Once the six months is up, we as a team, will evaluate the progress and determine whether or not to continue, re-negotiate, or terminate the partnership.[/ul][ul][/li][li]Banners will be exchanged – a Collectica banner will be posted on the Marketplace forums, on the front page, and possibly in the Toy Index (if Neil and MannyC think it’s okay).
