Biggest thing I do tell many people is not to take Wikipedia as Gospel. As has been said so far in this thread, anyone can and many do put things up there.
It would be much more gospel if such a statement were on their own website, NOT Wikipedia, unless sourced.
As much as I love Wikipedia and use it as my study bible, the only recommendation I give is to only use it as Square One in your research.
