Here are two tidbits I found on YouTube in regards to the little known Thundercats game produced by Elite Systems back in the day (1987). To this day I still have not setup the emulation on my PC to play it, but I will look into it soon.

I love how that music has absolutely no musical simularities to the ThunderCats theme tune - it’s just typical Amiga loudness. 
That being said.. I’m really interested in finding this, even though it looks dated and rubbish.

As someone who grew up with the original Nintendo Game Boy, which at the time looked the most state-of-the-art thing imaginable, I have a real soft spot for simplistic games like this. Thanks so much for posting those up, great to see!

I tried out the ZX Spectrum emulator last night but it was pretty bad. Not enjoyable at all.
The colours aren’t as good on the Amstrad version (compared to that Amiga video) unfortunately - but at least I know it works, as I played all the way through the game myself :liono
As a kid I had many a dream of LJN making a games for NES. Since LJN made games and Thundercats stuff it seemed like a match made in heaven but it never happened.
I’ve often wondered about this as well. I have a WWF game LJN made for the Super Nintendo (Royal Rumble) and it is a great game for its time. Why they never produced a Tcats game is beyond me.
As big a fan as I am on the franchise, i’d never play that game. Sometimes the old stuff appeals to me (despite growing up with it), other times it just plain annoys me… this is one of the those times.
Though I do wish they’d make a new thundercats game, but I suppose that’s never going to happen.

With the release of the ThunderCats CGI-animated movie in 2010, I’d think a tie-in video game would be very likely, especially given that the director has a video game background - however, the game would almost certainly mirror the character designs and style of the movie, rather than the classic cartoon.

This 1988 video game and its graphics look simplistic by today’s standards. I expected to see the other Cats in there with Lion-O, so I was a bit disappointed on that level. 
As for an updated ThunderCats video game, maybe it will be bad and maybe it won’t. We’ll just have to wait and see. Right now, I’m just hoping the film itself will be good and that a new ThunderCats cartoon - with Larry Kenney reprising his role of Lion-O - will result from it.
The rule of thumb has always been that 99% of games based off of a movie suck. This is true.
In this case however IF O’Flaherty was part of developing the new game, we would stand a better chance of getting a decent to good game.
More then likely though a different team would create the game, as to try and get both the movie and game released around the same time.
