May your stockings be filled with ThunderCats goodies, or at least other cool stuff that you wished for.
And may you and yours have a stupendous 2010.

Chris here…
Thanks Mark, and a very Happy Christmas to you too - thanks to all the TCL team for putting up with me throughout 2010!

I was working on a surprise update for the site that I was planning to unveil today but it’s nowhere near ready - it’s a lot of boring (continual copy-and-paste) HTML work! Don’t set this in stone, but I’m hoping it might be ready to unveil on New Year’s Day… ![]()
It’s something I think a lot of TCats fans will love - and, something that might just be useful for Hard Hero to be able to access as well! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
I’m working on a little update myself for New Years on the Hard Hero side of things. They want to work with us on a story or promo of some sort for when the statues hit stores.
I’ll let you know what they suggest. But they’re sending me some pics that I’ll be able to share soon. Here’s the first. Please don’t share these outside of the team as I’ve been asked to hold on to these until I get the okay to publish.

Chris here…
Well, since I’m blatantly not going to be able to get my exciting project that I alluded to online for New Year’s Day (
), I thought I might as well reveal it to you guys as a “work in progress”. ![]()
This is something that I think ThunderCats fans will love, and also something that I think could be very useful to Hard Hero’s sculptors if they want to continue using the TCats opening titles for pose references… ![]()

This is a looooong way off being finished - so far I’ve done 400 images, which means I’ve got just under 1400 left to go! The coding for this is pretty brutal, and easy to give yourself hand cramp, hence why I have to just do a couple of lines each day…but, hopefully some day soon it’ll get there! ![]()
If somebody wants to take over doing a few lines of code and then hand it back to me - please feel free, LOL! When you look at the source code it’s pretty straightforward how it works. ![]()
Take care… ![]()
Wow Chris, this is uber cool
Hey Chris, do you think you could work on this as one of the first pieces you do for the relaunch? I’d love to see this project completed as it is an awesome reference for a cel collector!
Cheers,
Mark
Chris here…
Mark, thanks for reminding me about this - I’m ashamed to admit I’d forgotten all about it! :duh:
I will definitely try and get this completed - I think perhaps now it might be something best left for the relaunch. All the screenshots are grabbed (including the thumbnails), it’s just the HTML that needs doing. The HTML for it is pretty brutal because you basically have to copy and paste each line and change the numbers by hand, it’s begging for a repetitive strain injury, LOL! ![]()
But yeah, this is something I’ve always dreamed of bringing to this site - thanks Mark for reminding me about it! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
Chris, that’s my point… with the new functionality available I would imagine this will be much easier (not sure how) …
Worth exploring to see if there is a shortcut to getting this done now.
Cheers,
Mark
Chris here…
Yeah, I did wonder about that - something like this is pretty brutal in HTML, WordPress may have a way of making it quicker! ![]()
MannyF, if you read this, any ideas if and how WordPress would allow a project like this quicker and easier? ![]()
Take care… ![]()
Chris here…
Here you go, Mark and everyone - this page will be a part of ThunderCats Lair 3.0, as it’s now completed! ![]()

In the end I have to be honest and say WordPress didn’t give me a lot of help with this, it was just as complicated and fiddly to get this page working the way I wanted in WP as it was doing it with HTML - however, I was able to get this done much quicker using Notepad as an HTML editor and some innovative use of the “replace” feature in there, all in all I think the coding for this took me about an hour - I then copy-and-pasted the finished code into the WP interface and voila! ![]()
Really glad to be able to complete this, I’m hopeful that ThunderCats fans will really enjoy it! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
