Cheetara Variant

Greetings fellow Thunderophiles!

I really would appreciate if someone could please help me out. It is my understanding that the LJN Cheetara figure had two color variants. One had a lighter skin tone and the other had a darker skin tone.

Now my problem is that I cannot tell the two apart. (perhaps I am partially color-blind!) :eek: I was told that the lighter skinned Cheetara also had lighter colored boots and the darker one had darker boots. I have two Cheetaras, one with light colored boots and one with dark BUT their skin colors are identical! To the best of my knowledge, it appears to be a “light cream” colored skin tone and I don’t know if that is the lighter or darker variant.

I have tried to search the net for images but the problem is that usually one of the two variants is always loose and the other MOC and also the photos are taken under different lighting conditions and on different backgrounds so it makes it very difficult to clearly distinguish between the two variants.

I’d greatly appreciate if someone could please upload a photo of the two loose variants side-by-side, clearly showing their different skin tones. Also is there another way to tell the two apart?

Yes, you are right, it seems that I have the “normal” and the “?” versions and that is what was causing the confusion. The “dark skin” Cheetara is rather yellowish in skin tone, isn’t it?

I can’t seem to find info on this…anyone know about the different ends on Panthro weapon!!i mean the ends that the chain fixes too… i have two sets and the ends are different just wondered if its down to were they were made or the series they came out in!!many thanks guys

I believe the ? mark Cheetara is the one that was released on UK Toy Options cards. The reason being, that’s the loose Cheetara I have (from when I was a kid, as I got her in 1991 when Woolworths were selling off the last of the ThunderCats toys.

Also apologies for the outdated variants section :frowning: I guess other things have taken over since, as I had much more time back then (I was between jobs when I created that section :wink: )
