Dude, what’s with them dissin’ Panthro?! Maybe the sword of omens will ressurect him? lol And they can’t make up their minds about Tygra’s age? I got the impression that he and Cheetara were the same age and older than Lion-O.
A bunch of posters on Tumblr have been ****ing about Panthro being dead or not confirmed for this incarnation of the series. I think its a sarcastic reaction to that.
I figured Cheetara and Tygra were older then Lion-O too. Hmmm, maybe they want to give themselves some wiggle room when it comes to Tygra’s age. What about the EST joke? Or was it implying that the Cats age differently then normal earth 1 humans?
Wow, Cheetara’s older then Lion-O? Guess he’s going for the older woman, lol. If the rumors of a romance subplot between the two are true.
Funny how if the girl is 2 years older, jokes are made about the guy going for an “older” woman. But if the guy is say even 5 years older, people don’t joke that she’s dating an older man.

2 years is nothing. However, she is significantly more mature than he is, so I can’t see how their relationship would work out all that well.
Girls do mature faster as a general rule. Tygra also seems a little more mature than Lion-O. He seems to carry himself with more dignity anyway.
IMO once you get to a certain age it doesn’t really matter. Now I still would raise an eyebrow to a 15, 20+ age difference, but a couple of years difference is no biggy(IMO).
On the other hand, at my age, (coincidentally the characters’ age) I cant imagine being with someone who was a year or two younger than me. Call me typical but I seem to have more in common with guys who are a few years older. I know its cliche’, but im just sayin. Now once I get into my late 20 and so on a couple of years probably wont matte much.
I dont know if dignity is the word I’d use. But yes, Tygra does seem more mature then Lion-O. Lion-O is a dreamer, and that in itself will automatically make him come off as childish. He was clinging to a ‘cubs dream’ of technology and flying ships. Even though he was technically right it went against the norms of what was expected of him. Lol if he was 74 he would be called eccentric. Then there was the whole talking out of turn (or place). Lion-O jumps out of his chair and calls Tygra out. While Tygra does the same but tells him this isnt the time or place.

Tygra, Mature response. In all fairness Tygra was immature for taking those shots at Lion-O in the first place. Regardless Tygra initially chose to a humerous tone v. Lion-O’s angry one. Now in the latest episode its not even a questions, but I dont think those were fair circumstances.
I agree about the Lion-O/ Cheetara dynamic. So far he seems to young for Cheetara. She has a demeanor that I would typically expect from an older character, so she actually comes off older than she is. AT THIS POINT it would just look like she’s humoring him. Another typical dynamic. Sultry mature women captures the heart of the shy underfoot younger guy. Tygra on the other hand just winks at her! And that lazy wolfish grin ! No extras just flat out lets her know he finds her appealing ( yes in that shapeless rob). Must have been something about her eyes ( Fanfic now!) :p:p Some women love that about a man, others would think he’s being a tad bit forward. Which type of girl will Cheetara be ?
Now as the characters have been set up you can see who I think would naturally gravitate towards one another . Seeing as we are only 3 episodes in this is subject to change.
The older you get, the less age seems as big a deal. Although most of my girlfriends will say that they don’t want a guy more than a couple years younger. And people will always question a relationship where the couple is 15 or more years apart.
It would be funny if one of Cheetara’s inner conflicts with the idea is the fact that she is older. After waching last Friday’s episode though, I think she makes a better match for Tygra.
My husband is six years younger than me. Granted i’m 32 and he’s 27, but we’ve been together over six years. I say younger men are better once they hit the right age. Can’t train an older guy, they’re set in their way and think they know what good lovin is.. I’ve dated 2 older guys my whole life, and I count both of em as big mistakes. Young ins is better. IMHO as long as it’s legal of course.
My grand father is 20 years younger than my grandmother. So I guess I just take after her. LOL Older men creep me out, i just don’t like how they behave.

So true! All my single guy friends who are older are very set in their ways and they don’t seem to realize how rigid they are. They all have their lives very planned out and have a very specific idea for the kind of woman they want. Problem is, us ladies don’t usually want to fit in their boxes.
That’s very interesting. I’ll bet that wasn’t very common back then. 20 years is a big age gap, but for her to be older is definitely more rare. My grandmother was older than my grandfather, but only by a few months. I have a good friend who likes younger men, she has no interest in guys older than her.
Having his whole life planned out is something I can admire, as long as he can adapt to what ever is thrown his way. I like stability in a person. Ive always been a very path orientated person, so having a goal is very important to me. As for fitting in a box, I wouldn’t demand someone change for me, and wouldn’t tolerate it from them, unless its a change for the better.
As for the love triangle, I dont think age will be a problem. Lion-O could be 23 and still have the same dreamer boyish personality. Its cute and endearing, but I just dont know if Cheetara will be romantically receptive to it. Thats all.
LOL, watch the creators throw us for a loop. Cheetara will end up with neither of them. Anywho, I wonder when we’ll get to see more of Tygra and Cheetara. Not romantically, just in general. I understand Lion-O is the star, but I’m anxious to see them get fleshed out. I typically like the supporting cast more than the star, so Im really looking forward to some Tygra and Cheetara themed stories.
I’m right there with that friend of yours. I was thinking about this subject while i was lying in bed last night waiting to sleep, and it dawned on me, it’s because, older men tend to not respect younger women. Oh they can say they do, but their actions are always “I know better than you” but a younger man almost always respects an older woman. Especially when there’s a good gap. An older woman ends up being treated equally, or given a measure of more respect. Time proves she knows what she’s doing. So I think in the end, that’s why I have tried to stick with younger men while i was dating. I was thinking about the handful of men i’ve dated before my husband, and to me it just seems the older ones I dated never gave me the respect I deserve, but the younger ones gave me my space, my respect, cared what I am feeling. I mean all around it was always a better relationship.
As for my grammy, she had 6 kids before meeting my grandpa. 2 divorces, both older men. One of them was so abusive that he would beet her. Once when I was 6 years old my grandmother and I were hailing a cab in the rain, this strange man started to talk to her, then he was yelling at her, before I knew it he was hitting my grandmother, I was so angry I jumped in front of her yelling don’t touch my grammy, and I got my first black eye. He punched me square in the face. His whole fist was bigger than my little head. I saw a brilliant red light and don’t remember what happened next. sigh Years later I find out it was her ex-second husband. :mad: But it has a happy ending, my uncle beet the crap out of him.
Anywho, so back to Thundercats, It doesn’t matter to me if Cheetara dates Lion-O because an older woman can have a really happy life with a younger man. :cheetara: <3 :liono

I agree in this completely:
a)I think Cheetara might end with none of them (but if she must end with one of them, Tygra’s my pick).
b) I want to see more of Cheetara and Tygra.
c) I also tend to like more supporting characters more than the main ones.
Heck yeah! I’m 5 1/2 years older than my husband, and we’ve been together happily since 1999.
I’m going to cast a vote for Cheetara/Panthro. Just to be different.
