This thread came about becasue of the toy whishlists thread…i want to direct this thread towards the more “legendary” old show toys that all collectos want and are extremely hard to get (moat moster, tongue a saurus, mad bubbler, stinger) and some of those that never even made it to toys (leah, molemaster, plutarr?? zaxx, nemex, etc) now that the show has progressed some and with hopes that producers read theses suggestions i thought id ask what characters from the old show that appeared once or twice would you like to see again, maybe even possibly be more of a regular charcter?..I know theyve mentioned mandora, pummra, and we’ve seen driller, and even some silverhawks and tigersharks, but so many more come to mind…

I’d be happy w/ Monkian, the Lunataks, and Rataro. What I don’t want to see are characters from the os being thrown in for no reason. If they don’t have a story or intricate role then leave them in the past. They don’t have to be large roles, Driller was used perfectly in my opinion. They made him part of the story and used him effectively.
Oh yeah. Didn’t like him, but then, he had Jaga prisoner and that just was not cool.

I recognized Zaxx but only because I browsed that episode recently after I realized the user on here “thezaxfactor” was the title of an episode and that Zaxx was a character. Made me curious to see.
Amortus doesn’t really look familiar to me either. And not sure who tongueasaurus was. Sounds like a character from the Flintstones.
tongue-a-saurus is that sought after rare ljn toy, i believe it was in only one episode and it wasnt even a great character, but they toy heightened is popularity greatly…zaxx was interesting cause it had a good story with mummra… amortus even thought it was a grotesque character i was always intrigued by the backstory of how he had imprisoned all those ancient thundercats in stone…obviously it was some sort of foe for many centuries to the thundercats…

My mistake, I was more thinking along the lines that I’d only like them to appear in one or two episodes in the new run. I knew most of their appearances, including Snow Meow possibly running separately from Snow Man in the Mind Power anointment trial.
Of course that I have a lot of characters on my whislist, like Safari Joe, Mandora and Hachiman, but I really wanna see new characters too, that may become so unforgettable like this others.
I admit that I don’t keep up on all the latest news and info, but where did you see this?
I’m really, really eager for Pumyra and Bengali to be included. Aside from the Lynx-O cameo in the first episode, was it explicitly stated that these characters will be inlcuded or are you simply assuming that their inclusion is implied by Lynx-o’s cameo?
Being pragmatic, Lynx-O (and to a lesser extent, Bengali) were featured much more promenantly in the last half of the OS so their inclusion doesn’t seem too far off. Pumyra, on the other hand, was almost non-existant after she was introduced, then later on she was completly ignored once the TCats relocated to New Thundera.
I guess I just get the impression from the fandom as a whole that the new TCats were not as popular as the originals and I worry that their lack of popularity will result in them being left out of the new series, Lynx-O’s cameo not withstanding.
On one hand, his cameo could have been a nod to the OS fans with no plans to include him later. The other side of that coin is that he could have been included as a prelude to the new TCats showing up down the road (avoiding the “they were really there all along, just never seen” issue that drives some people like me crazy!)
The way I would like to see these characters introduces is this;
Lynx-O (being the General of Thundera’s army when it was invaded) managed to survive the attack and led a small group of surviving Thudarian warriors (inlcuding the weaponsmith, Bengali) into hiding. These warriors came across a group of refugees that were also in hiding, with many of them wounded and being cared for by Pumyra, a thunderian healer. Lynx-O, and his new second in command, Bengali, along with Pumyra became the defacto leaders of the thunderian refugees until the TCats show up. These 3 are indoctrinated into the TCat’s group since they proved themselves trustworthy and reliable in the way the took care of the survivors after the attack.

I was both scared and excited. She’s my favorite character. I truly hope I like this new take on her, but I’m also hopeful that she becomes a permanent member of the team like in the OS, except is actualy developed and unitlized.
I’m wondering if Pumyra is going to be a cleric like Cheetara but will have a complete different skillset as to explain why she wasn’t in battle with Jaga, Cheetara, and the other clerics. It wouldnt’ surprise me if she sucks as speed bursting but is good at the other magic stuff like shooting lightning bolts like Jaga and healing.
