I am interested in purchasing an acrylic case which offers over 99% UV restistance for a rare and in very good condtition 8-back Orange Lion-o. For some reasons the Series 1 Thundercats are more prone to Yellowing, i think it would be a good idea to protect this piece which still has a perfectly clear bubble with an enhanced UF5 Acrylic case instead of a Standard Case.I contacted CGA and the cost was $25 USD plus!! Pretty expensive:mad: If anyone has purchased it before, is there any actual difference and does it worth the amount?

With all the money we spend and care we show for these kind of Thundercats pieces i see no difference from the passion over antique cars!!
This is what i thought about too, but i was wondering if anyone else has ever purchased a UF5 acrylic case for his personal collection and wanted to know if it is as good as they say.
I have already kept this one unprotected for a long time and i don’t want to leave it exposed anymore!!
The CGA guys, told me they need to custom manufacture this case because it’s not in stock.
I am jealous of this Lion-O! I’m on my 4th 8 back and the only clear looking one I’ve ever got has a tear in the bubble so still got a 60 from AFA, if that’s not a clear 80 I would be shocked.
[FONT=Arial Black][FONT=Arial][SIZE=3]From my experience with AFA I’d say you can never be sure about the final grades. There are way too many factors taken into consideration. Personally, the most important thing is the Acrylic case you get. [/SIZE][/FONT]
[FONT=Arial][SIZE=3]This Lion-o has a crystal clear Bubble, one of the best I’ve seen so far with no sign of yellowing or lifting, no scratches, tearing or dents. It’s factory sealed to the card all around and the inner tray is fully intact with nothing cut or missing. The figure is mint with tight joints and i don’t see any paint wear or over-spray. The card is really in very nice shape considering this is the very first Lion-o W/Catalogue of Series 1(1985), the colours are vibrant and the cardback is flat. There is a slight edge wear at the bottom left corner but it is minor, the zoomed in,High Quality shots don’t do justice, making it look worse than it actually is. The right corner has a minor creasing which is hardly visible. The Thundercats logo has vivid clolors across the top card and no Price Sticker is placed on the front or back. [/SIZE][/FONT]
[FONT=Arial][SIZE=3]Most likely, if graded in my perception it’d get Card:75 or 80, Blister:85, Figure:85. For better or worse I cant say an overall grade, i’ve seen figures with 80,90,85 getting 80, as i’ve said before it’ not easy to make predictions. Maybe rarity would play a major role for this one, you don’t see them too often, i think there are only 3 ever graded by AFA.[/SIZE][/FONT]
