Cool. I actually got the commission for this piece by doing a Cats Lair commission last month. I have some ideas I would like to paint of Thundercats, MOTU, Transformers and TMNT.
well there you go it could really take off for you . show your work on other forums i would if i was you . how long did cracka’s piece take to do .
Overall probably about 10 hours.
i like the one you did for cracka that much if i ever want one doing i would have the same as cracka’s .
I’d have to ask his permission but maybe I could sell you a print LOL. I really don’t know if I could pant and draw one exactly the same again. I would definitely be up for doing a new different Castle Plundarr though. ![]()
These are two fun pieces that i found looking up more info on Thundercats LIVE! I have always been a fan of Thundercats Live memorabilia (Nothing screams 80’s like Live show on skates) I may be a bit partial to these too because the articles are also from Philly (where i live) but none the less cool. I never got to go to the Thundercats LIVE show when I was young so I was always curious as to what exactly it was. Especially after seeing the strange grouping of characters on it, I wanted to know just how that live show worked. Until we are lucky enough to one day uncover a video of the performance, here is the next best thing. 2 separate reviews of Thundercats LIVE that were printed in 2 different Philadelphia newspapers when it came through the Philadelphia Civic Center in September of 1987…
The Thundercats Come Alive For Kids Show’s Characters Are On Stage Through Sunday
By Steven Rea, Inquirer Staff Writer
POSTED: September 25, 1987
Forget about the arenas packed with Springsteen fans, flicking their Bics and holding them aloft as they bellow “Bruuuuce! Bruuuuce!” into the dark, smoky air.
You haven’t lived (well, maybe you have - just humor me) until you’ve sat among mobs of single-digiters (5- , 6- and 7-year-olds galore) pointing their fiery illuminated plastic swords toward the heavens, crying “Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! ThunderCats Ho!”
Such was the scene at the Philadelphia Civic Center Wednesday night, as the rollicking extravangaza ThunderCats Live! (playing through Sunday) got under way. This busy, bubbly road show - featuring 24 gyrating, gymnastic cast members, more than 400 lights, a flying rig, lots of smoke and strobes, and a booming soundtrack - stars characters from the hugely successful animated kids show ThunderCats.
Along with the Top ThunderCat, Lord Lion-O, the team of feline-like alien superheroes includes the cutesy Snarf, the fearless Panthro, the lightning- fast Cheetara and the “agile master architect” Tygra. (One of the finalists, no doubt, in the Philadelphia Orchestra’s recent design competition for the proposed symphony hall.)
The entertainment begins, however, with the slope-headed figure of Gumby rising from center stage, joined soon after by his lovable equine pal Pokey. This venerable duo, on the kiddie scene now for more than 30 years, has decided that watching TV isn’t enough - they want to go inside the TV for some real adventures. Luckily, there’s a giant TV right there on the stage, and the clay couple - aided by the audience’s screams of “Chaaaaarge!” (which is also the way parents can pay for their tickets) - propel themselves headlong into the supersized Trinitron.
Once inside, they find themselves in ThunDERa, land of the ThunderCats. But things aren’t altogether hunky dory: the T-Cats’ arch-nemesis Mumm-ra and his evil mutants are on hand, and a battle of sorts ensues. Said battle is a choreographed frenzy that resembles nothing so much as a Solid Gold dance number.
Before Gumby and Pokey’s 90-minute journey - plus intermission - concludes, the pair (on roller skates, it should be noted) have also run (or rolled) into the flying SilverHawks, the swimmingTigerSharks, Mini-Monsters, Asian fan dancers, a giant Panda, a guitar-playing cowboy named Bluegrass, Street Frogs, Karate Kat and a group of space-age gamblers aboard the “Starship Casino.” Classic moments of dialogue include Pokey’s praise to one of the rappin’ Street Frogs, Loretta Honeylove: “You can hip-hop better than a frog can.”
Another memorable moment comes when Gumby turns to Pokey and says, “You know what? I think I’ve had enough now. It’s time to go home.”
This remark comes nowhere near the end of the show, however. And while adults may find themselves echoing Gumby’s sentiment, the audience ThunderCats Live! is aimed at clearly felt otherwise. A 5-year-old companion - tuckered from a day of kindergarten and not particularly crazy about ThunderCats anyhow - nonetheless sat enthralled as Lion-O and Gumby shimmied around the stage, cavorting and exhorting sundry bad guys. And when it was time yet again for the ThunderCats’ triumphant call to action, well, the loudest “ThunderCats Ho!” in the immediate vicinity came from the diminutive character seated upon this reporter’s lap.
IF YOU GO
ThunderCats Live! will be presented at the Philadelphia Civic Center, 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard today at 7:30 p.m. today; at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15, $10.50 and $9.50, on sale at the box office and Ticketron locations. For information, call: 823-7400. "
Cartoons Come To Stage In ‘Thundercats’
By JOE O’DOWD JR., Daily News Staff Writer

ThunderCats Live! at the Philadelphia Civic Center, 34th Street and Civic Center Blvd. An action family arena show, through Sunday.
On a scale of 1 to 10, Ian McGuire, 4 1/2, was expecting an 11 for last night’s premiere of “ThunderCats Live!”
Little Ian was treated to a colorful, dance-filled adaptation of some Saturday morning cartoon adventures. The audience, composed of parents and small children, enjoyed the ThunderCats, a quasi-human, cat-like race. Unfortunately, these characters were on stage for only a short period of the performance.
Cartoon favorites Gumby (he was once a little green slab of clay) and his sidekick Pokey narrated the show. The two pranced around the stage on roller skates, getting themselves into trouble. It was up to the ThunderCats, and some superhero friends, to rescue the bumbling pair.
Dancers clad in brilliant, multi-colored costumes and kelly-green Gumby asked the audience to yell “Charge!” as they forced their way into a huge television and into the plots of the cartoons. The children responded with high-pitched, heartfelt cries, enabling Gumby and Pokey to enter TV-land.
The two find themselves in a dusty museum, surrounded by statues of Egyptians. The figures come alive and perform a dance number to the Bangles’ '‘Walk Like An Egyptian." The music video-raised kids clapped and sang along until - dum da dum dum! - Mumra, the ThunderCats’ enemy, takes the pair prisoner.
Just in time, and to the children’s screaming delight, Lord Lion-O, chief Good Guy of the ThunderCats, saves the day. Armed with a large, not-too- menacing looking sword, Lord Lion-O banishes the bad guys. Of course, he needs the audience’s help; they yell, without any prompting, “Thunder! Thunder! ThunderCats!” Big surprise: the Good Guys win.
The rest of the show is a rerun of the theme. In the second act, the ''Silverhawks" - part man, part bird - rescue the hapless duo as they fly. The children enjoyed it, but adults would be hard-pressed to favorably compare Silverhawks to a grade-B circus.
Ian was happy with the performance, though. Afterwards, clutching a Lord Lion-O banner, he said, “Now I want to see the cartoons.”
By Thundera, you’ve outdone yourself, Cap’n!
I don’t know about that Daremonger but I do know that i need to find the “illuminated plastic sword” and “Lord Lion-O banner”.
i like how this photo turned out because i imagine it being from the point of view of a mutant and it being the last thing they saw.

Love the new addition, Cap’n! :thumbsup
love the collection! Everytime I see something obscure on eBay that I might want to buy I think to myself “Dont even bother, Cap’n gonna out bid me.” LOL. I love to collect all kinds of Thundercats items.
Why thank you, Ninja Cat!! hahahah nah, bid away! Its more fun that way!! the random items and merch are such a variety it makes hunting them down that much more fun and interesting. I have been jealous of your Mumm-ra dagger for quite some time. Not only have I always wanted to find one of them but I also love glow in the dark so it is that much cooler.
Please forgive me for not updating in awhile. I will get around to posting pics of the latest additions. But I wanted to definitely get this picture up. I commissioned this piece from the boards own Mark M. First, I commissioned a Castle Plun-darr piece and this time I contacted Mark about doing a piece that was very important to me. He did yet another absolutely amazing job with the Hall of Omens. (The Hall of Omens is the name of my collection as well as structure and a mainstay in my fan fiction writings. This is only the second piece of artwork I have had done of the Hall of Omens and it is amazing!! The picture does not do it justice. Much like Castle Plun-darr, the colors and the pieces are much more impressive in person. Thank you so much Mark Moore! You have out done yourself once again!!

These were 2 things that I thought we cool. I was in Vegas a little while ago and stayed at the Luxor Hotel. I was waiting to check in and checked the Pokemon Go App only to find that the Luxor was not only a Pokestop in the game but was also given a pretty sweet name and one of the most popular games of 2016 made reference to Thundercats…
The Luxor - “Mumm-ra the Ever Living pyramid. ThunderCats”

This second one was sent to me from my friend while they were in New York City Unfortunately, the exact location I am not aware of…

Thank you, Wilycub! I love adding to the vintage shoe/ footwear part of the collection. I never had any of these shoes growing up so its fun seeing and finding whats out here.
Mark M. should be quite proud. He really did the Hall of Omens justice. ![]()
