Who remembers this kickass animated show from the late 80s? it’s not to be confused with the dumb reality show of the same name and was called Cyber-Cops later on.
I was 6 when it came out and loved it and had the merchandise including all the toys and comics to taping every episode. I even had a crush on Nightshade.
Who thinks this show is Blade Runner inspired?
Digging up this ol thread.. I LOVE C.O.P.S! I watched it all the time as a kid and got one of the 4 disc DVD box-sets a couple years back. I think it still holds up and is very entertaining. I always wished the show would inspire toys and not the other way around. The C.O.P.S & Crooks line-o-toys is pretty cool, but I kinda like the cartoon versions of the characters better 
I really liked C.O.P.S. but never seen any of the toys in shops here. I only seen a few episodes I got on video and a few during its limited broadcast on UK TV. The toys did look excellent. Sadly it is another great toyline that lacked the female characters.
Ya I remember watching this back in the day. Pretty cool toon but not one of my top favorites. I believe I had two of the toys. Maybe Ape and Kookoo?

I think I only saw one episode of C.O.P.S. in my childhood. Don’t really recall much of it. It was one of the cartoons featured on a VHS of mixed cartoons that my dad recorded for me. Another cartoon featured on that VHS (also about cops) was “Police Academy: The Series”. Anybody remember that show?
Yes I remember the Police Academy cartoon. I seen a few episodes when it was broadcast here around Easter 1994. I remember in college discovering it had a toyline. The HQ was very similar to the Kenner Ghostbusters Fire House.
Ah, COPS! This is one of those shows that I only saw a tiny handful of episodes of as a kid (about four or five, maybe six at the outside most), but then as an adult I looked it up, and thoroughly enjoyed it. About this time last year I showed it to my best friend from uni (we share a lot of nostalgic interests), and he was thoroughly hooked. Despite the futuristic setting, there’s a big 1930s vibe to it, especially the episode titles and Bulletproof’s opening and closing narratives.
I have downloaded all of C.O.P.S. so I will get around to watching it all at some point.
Did you know that some members of the C.O.P.S. team are descendants of the G.I. Joe team?
I never saw GI Joe, but I heard that Checkpoint (not one of the main team but the most regular recurring extra) is meant to be the son (or grandson?) of someone called (I think) Beach Head.
Yes I recall reading that. There was also a G.I. Joe character called Bullet Proof who was also a cop on their Anti Drug Squad. I don’t believe he ever appeared in the second DIC cartoon.
