I was just wondering if you’re buying lots from other dealers or ebay and you end up with duplicates of figures do you then sell them on or try to complete them and sell them?
Or as some do, would you keep them for customising?
I usually dont buy lots unless theres something I need. However being that Ive gotten into customizing lately I may have to buy lots to customize figs and such. MOC’s are enough money as it is to start a loose collection.Reselling has crossedmy mind but its too much of a gamble to do

I’ve never bought a lot but I’ve seen some guys in eBay buying so many lots and they never re-sell (in eBay) that there’s a couple of possibilities:
a) They re-sell in a real “brick” old-toys store (I’ve never seen one like this in my country but maybe in UK and US they exist), but I think this is unlikely.. I mean, who would buy a Thundercat in a store where they would be much more expensive if they could get a bargain in eBay?
b) They are crazy enough to army-build with Thundercats (army build is what some people do with GIJOE, they buy a lot of, say, 50 Cobra Crimson Guards, B.A.T.'s, etc, put a Cobra Commander in the front, some vehicles flanking and there you go, you have an army). I can Imagine one Mumm-Ra and dozens of Slythe’s / Monkian’s / Jackalman’s like in the cartoon… Or maybe a dozen Thundertanks 
c) “I just have to have it all”. I do believe some people do this… And that’s bad… :-S
You can get bargains on eBay but some collectors like seeing the conditions of the items in person. I have no problem paying extra for something that I know is in mint condition and don’t have to wait or worry for it to arrive in the mail.
I buy lots sometimes just for one item or weapon. Sometimes there is a gem in there and for the price of the lot I save a lot of money instead of buying that single item. The majority of time lots just don’t sell for as much. This is always why selling each piece seperate is an advantage.
Im a bit undecided, on the one hand buying lots can sometimes be a bit cheaper than buying the individual figures (from what ive observed on ebay) and on the other theyre usually incomplete and sometimes damaged.
The other thing is i dont really want multiple figures that ill have to go through the hassle of then re-selling on later.
I suppose ill keep my eyes openon ebay and hope for a few nice varied lots.
