Hi team, I decided to make a thread where I can post all of the work I am doing for the Bible/Encyclopedia project. As requested I have done a sample page. As I have no template to work with as of yet I can only provide you with an image of what the page would look like.
Ok, firstly I am intent on illustrating the guide. As far as the profiles of each character, I have no idea. I know that Martin has been working on these, so hopefully he will be able to contribute to that area of the project. Basically ignore my ‘mock’ profile, it’s just for show.
The illustrations I did today will improve as I get used to drawing Thundercats again, but you get a feel for the way I am going to make it all look. As I was reading through some messages from fans, attempts to enhance or change The Thundercats have met much dislike. Therefore I have tried to maintain the original form Tygra in this profile. This is something important to me and will be maintained throughout the entire bible/encyclopedia.
So as far as I am concerned I am happy to continue illustrating each character in this way and then, if give template, begin to produce the section.
I cannot fault this at all - the way you’ve approached this, your artwork and design, all absolutely brilliant! Truly, utterly, unbelievably brilliant!
As you can possibly tell, I quite like what you’ve come up with! I’m looking forward to seeing these with Martin’s text, and (once I’ve got my backside in gear making some more headway with the Comic Section) hopefully adding text/info myself!
My mouth literally dropped when I saw that…it is truly unbelievable. TCL will no doubt set the bar on everything Thundercats related. Cant wait for it to be online
Ok thanks for the feedback, I will carry on working my way through the main characters. I will post the finished version of each character once completed, and I will let you all know when I feel there is enough to warrent a site update.
I’ll PM you more information on how the design/layout will be. We’ll collaborate on it together.
EDIT: Might I add, I neither favor or disfavor a unique art style, but may be you should try posting an example of your Thundercats style on the board and see what the reaction is? Although if you prefer illustrating it in the original art style, that is 100% fine with me.
I think that Illustrating the Thundercats in the same way as the show will allow people to relate to what they see in the Bible to what they see in the show. For example if they are looking for a specific character, they will be able to find it in a visual way without the potential question ‘is that supposed to be a berbil?’ Plus I love the way they look on the show and love working with them in this way.
Everything so far is awesome, perhaps like Manny said you can post up some of the art just to see the reaction of forum members. Regardless though i think everyone will agree that it is just awesome
My aim is to do all of the Thundercats and then get them on the site and see what the reaction is. Then we can take it from there. Glad you all like it, keeps me motivated.
