Ok.. forget voices, powers, roles etc… Which character was best designed? Take in to consideration..
- the adaptation of an existing animal (Monkey → Monkian etc..)
- clothing/costume/weapons
- similarity between appearence and personality
- originality
- Any other aspect of the characters design..
For me this is a hard question to answer because I can appreciate how difficult character design is…therefore to me all of the characters in the series are amazing.
I have chosen Tygra. I like how well the designers produced a balance between a Tiger and a human. With characters such as Lion-O and Panthro.. it is less evident what animal they are adaptations of. Physically he appears more like an athelete compared to the likes of Panthro who has a more body building physique.
His costume also resembles that of an athelet being quite tight and aero-dynamic. I also like the colours of his costume. They are pastel blues and greens which contrast the vibrant orange of Tygra.
I think if a new series was to surface, he would need the least updating.
There are many other characters which I think were great designs such as Hachiman, Hammerhand, Lynx-O, Grune.. the list goes one..
