Best and Worst animated episodes?

So yeah what episodes do you think were animated the best and which ones do you think were animated horribly?
For me some of the best animated episodes are:
Mumm-Ra Berbil
Spitting Image
Mumm-Ra Lives parts 3-5
Thundercats Ho!
The Mountain
A few others whose names I can’t remember
Why? Good character designing, actual good anatomy, nice backgrounds, nobody’s bodies look weird and their heads fit their body sizes.

as for one of the worst
Mumm-Rana
Lion-'O’s Anointment part 5: Trail of Evil
The Transfer
The Demolisher
Why: Horrible character designs, bad anatomy, awful animation, bodies that look swollen or extremely creepy, also heads don’t match up with body sizes. Balloon animal muscles.

I have to disagree with you on “The Transfer.” I think it was animated well.

It could have been animated better. There are moments where the characters are drawn real wonky.

I pretty much agree with your list. Generally, most of the first 40 or so episodes were really well drawn and animated (Exodus, Safari Joe, Trouble with Time, Ghost Warrior etc.)
One episode which “doesn’t fit the bill” is probably “The Terror of Hammerhand”. It wasn’t badly animated, but the overall look of the characters was a bit too different from the usual designs.

Towards the end of the first season, the quality started to go down, with episodes having poor “flat” drawings and choppy animations (Superpower Potion, Eye of Beholder).

For the later seasons, in-between the 5-parters there were plenty of badly animated episodes. I remember in “Catfight” there are many scenes in which Panthro looks really fat! :00

with those awful episode I mentioned there’s only a few frames here and there that have actual good animation. They are usually close ups of the thundercats faces and a very brief segment of mumm-ra here and there. I don’t understand why they got lazy later on in the series but it’s glaringly obvious.

Some of the “Hanna-Barbera” episodes of ThunderCats had good animation, like “The Telepathy Beam.”

lots of season 3 episodes were done okay but that didn’t really make up for how horrible the stories were.

Wasn’t this topic already being discussed here:

http://thundercats.org/forums/index.php?threads/most-well-animated-episodes.9747/

I don’t know. I wasn’t here in september of last year.

Fair enough, but you can always have a quick look before starting a thread. I wouldn’t think the thread was that old that the conversation couldn’t have been continued.

i could have but I did that once in another forum a few years ago and I got in trouble.

I think this place is quite laid back about such things, particularly if a thread is less than a year old.

I, for one, LOVE to see an old thread get bumped. It means that new people are taking the time read all our old ramblings. [emoji6]

I like reading those old ramblings.

Well if you all want that topic to be revived it’s ok with me. go ahead and lock this thread and we can all move to there. :stuck_out_tongue:
