We’ve talked alot about the thundercats and the mutants. It got me thinking about the third faction (forth being the lunatacs) in the thundercats universe - the Berzerkers.
Does any want to see more of them in the new cartoon?
Do you want any changes?
Shhould include the prototype characters Cannon Blaster & Quick Jaw?
I’m personally a little undecided on these guys, Hammerhand himself could be a very good villain to have in there, and I particularly liked their creepy ship with the laser shooting skull head! I disliked the ‘bosster’ they added onto te ship later on in the season however, and his crew members seemed particularly un-thundercat animation like and I dont think they fitted!
So to summarise - yes if they have more focus on Hammerhand and keep him serious not make him silly, no berserker crew members with wheels in their chest or that spin really fast!!
If they cant do that, leave em out!
I agree. Keep Hammerhand and get rid of the others.
I agree. They were okay in their inital appearance. But then when they came back looking all tricked-out (which I can only assume they did so they would sell better as toys), they just looked too goofy. I think it was probably one of the more blatant examples of advertising toys in a kids’ show. Their very appearance screamed: “Hey kids! Look for these new action figures in a toy store near you!” 
As long as they can keep their appearance more grounded in reality, though, I wouldn’t mind seeing them. And hopefully they won’t have that annoying habit they had of repeating the last word three times in every sentence. Sentence! SENTENCE!!!
LOL..your right, right, RIGHT! Though you must admit it could be funny, funny, FUNNY! Seemed more acceptable when it was said by Hammerhand, Hammerhand, HAMMERHAND! But the others doing it was just too much, much MUCH!

I disagree. I liked them all! I think The Berserkers would go really well with the new style.
I never could stand the Berserkers! Especially after that train-wreck of a comic book T-Cat run “HammerHand’s Revenge” May they fade away quietly.
C’mon, they absolutely need to bring this back for Hammer Hand.
It was just one of the really unique and awesome speech patterns that separated certain characters in the show.
Vultureman had his squawks.
Captain Cracker had his static
Monkian had his monkey sounds
It made the characters more dynamic and added another layer that ones with normal speech patterns didn’t have (and to head this off, no, that other layer was not ‘annoyance’).
It brought a unique character diversification to the show and absolutely deserves to and should be brought back.
As for the rest of the Berzerkers, I’d like to see them all back, though if only HammerHand and/or a new set of them is brought in I wouldn’t mind,
Note - Top Spinner and Ram Bam might pose problems for WB depending on how the RB/LJN contract was setup as its been speculated those were LJN created characters (those two didn’t appear with the original Berzerkers). Possible name/likeness changes might need to occur for them to be brought to the new show, but we’ll see.
Also this is totally different than the argument I made for the original Thundercats toys as that was an argument over likeness of existing RB property vs this one being whether or not LJN came up with those two characters. Same probably applies for Quick Jaws and Canon Blaster.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Berserkers. I’d like to learn more about Hammerhand, how he lost his arm etc.
I once wrote a story about the Berserkers and how Baron Carnor was once one of them. But he betrayed them and stole their gold. Paranoid, scared and corrupted by greed, he buildt his Tower of Traps and hid himself and the gold from his former brother-in-arms.
I love backstories/origins and I hope they do something like this with the Berserkers/Hammerhand… Bring 'em on!
I guess this is where you and I would disagree, Grune. I always felt that kind of thing was just silly, and really undercut any potential Thundercats could have of taking itself seriously. There just didn’t seem to be any reason for it. When creating a character, and they have an odd way of speaking, a writer should ask themselves, “Is there a reason that character should speak that way?” And if they can’t figure out a good reason why, then it just comes off as arbitrary and gimmicky, which I felt was kind of what happened there. If a writer is imaginative enough, they can do other things about their voice besides giving it a weird vocal tic to define them better as characters.
Another reason why I hold a grudge against the Bersekers is that, the first episode they appeared in (Terror of Hammerhand, I think), was the first one that Tygra didn’t (yes, I was that huge of a fan :D)
That’s a fantastic idea! I really like the sounds of this. Now that is one link between characters, that I think would have worked very well!
Yeah, I had a lot of fun writing it! I think I have the story on a back-up disk somewhere.. I’ll post it if I can find it.. (I also have an origin story about the Living Ooze..)
I always wonderd why the Berserkers didn’t get any explination at all.. just cyborg-pirates..? And the strange resurrection of Hammerhand (and new crew) in ThunderCats Ho! The Movie… Time for some splainin’ 
I don’t mind the special attributes with the Berzerkers it gave each character that little something but yes the speech was a bit annoying lol.

Seems the Berserkers inspire a lot of people, as looking through some old floppy discs of stuff (yes, I did say floppy discs - this is going back some years, LOL!) I found a fanfic I wrote about how the Berserkers transitioned between the ones we see in “The Terror of Hammerhand” and then in “ThunderCats Ho!” 
Personally I’d love to see the Berserkers return in the new series - BUT, I definitely don’t think we’ll see them for a while, as I think the writers will want to focus on a core group of characters. But yeah, it would be good to see them back IMO!

To Chris’s point, you can get a good idea of who the beginning of the show is going to center around by what figures were in the wave 1 reveal. Even though we haven’t seen some of the things like the Tower of Omens or S-s-slithe yet in anything revealed for the show, it seems like a pretty safe bet this show will be almost as toy driven as the original was.
So you can expect to see plenty of Grune, Mumm-Ra, the four cats, and S-s-slithe for sure. Eventually the Thundertank and Tower of Omens too in heavy doses.
Of course this isn’t universal as we haven’t seen a Claudus or Jaga figures yet (although I suspect they will be in wave 2), but pretty safe bet that if Hammer Hand were going to be featured in the first few episodes, he would have had a figure out in the first wave.
I do really hope they are able to bring at least Hammer Hand back though, 3 repeating words and all 
Hammerhand Wouldn’t be as cool IMO if he was alone. That being said I wouldn’t mind a complete redesign of the rest of the Berserkers.
Remember that ep where Mumm-Ra brings Hammerhand back to live to possess Pantrho’s body, and at the end he destroyed the Black Pyramid by inside?
That was a good ep (ok, kind of good, making it about Panthro ruined it to me as I always found him kinda lame), and Hammerhand was alone.
that was spitting image, it was an ok ep nothing great, though i do like panthros charachter i didnt like the idea of a clone let alone hammerhand
