I like the newer ones. They’re better looking and cuter. I like their backstory too.

I prefer the new ones. The old ones always left me feeling quite horrified, but I think the new ones are cute.
They are pretty much the same in my opinion. Similar designs and difficult to understand. So, it’s a tie for me.
I like the new ones more aswell… Or.. It’s hard to say as i grew up with the original but i REALLY THINK the new ones look better. It sure was the 80’s but they still could have made them more cute which they did in the NS.
80’s Berbils all the way!
They are both pretty much the same. If there was any difference, its that the new ones were even more obnoxiously cute.
I’ll say this The inclusion of the Berbils is without a doubt, the gutsiest decision the creators of the new show has hit us with so far. In the 80s, cutesy care bear-bots is that far fetched. In today’s world with the tone that this show is going for, it almost feels like an impossible fit.
Doing the Berbils, I thought they might make the mistake of trying to make the Berbils more bad ass than they were back in the day. Instead, I think the creators proved just how much they respect the original show by just embracing everything about the Berbils. Like I said, they made them obnoxiously cute to the point that the entire episode’s humor was derived from the other characters (namely Panthro) being put off by it, and in a strange way, it worked.
design wise I like the new Berbils better. they got rid of the red clown noses and I think the design works much better with the fur on the lower half of their bodies rather than it being on the upper half like the old ones. I also really liked their ball travel forms.
personality wise theyre almost exactly the same so I won’t even try to compare them on that.
Not only that but aren’t they smaller and thus more cuddly as well? Especially Berbil children.
Personally, I love that they made the 2011 Berbils more bear-like, as opposed to the originals from 1985. I also like that they preserved the robotic voices, as that was one of my favorite things about them.
However, I love that we have different colors of Berbils, and that female berbils are more destinguishable than their original counterparts. Like I said, the different colors and head shapes are reminiscent to the Care Bears. I also like that they’ve incorporated Berbil children as well.
However, the best feature that the current Berbils have is their ability to curl up into a ball for a speedy retreat.
