So, I realized that I was one of only a few that thought this, but…
…could there be a chance that Bengali would at LEAST make a cameo in this Saturday’s episode???
It seems like the perfect setup for an episode to introduce him. A forgotten colony of tigers seems like the perfect place because, you know, he’s kind of A TIGER. Also, much like “The Trials of Lion-O, Part 1”, there are no previews (as of the time I posted this), and I’m pretty sure that was because of the fact that they didn’t want people to know that Lion-O died. Maybe they could be trying to hide the fact of a possible new character?
Also, we know they’re introducing Pumyra on the 28th, so they might be beginning to introduce new characters. Personally, I think it’d be great if they brought Bengali into the Cats sometime soon, and I’m sorry if there’s already a ton of people who think this. But from my experience of looking around on different threads, there doesn’t seem to be much (if any) speculation of this and I thought I’d put this out there.
Also, there’s something everybody’s been overlooking. April is “sweeps month” for TV, the time when all the shows air episodes geared to bring in the highest ratings that they can. It would explain why Bengali might be introduced this Saturday, and why Pumyra is being introduced in two weeks.
Oh that is interesting. We’ve already had a glmpse of Lynx-O and Pumyra is on the way, but I hadn’t even thought about Ben-Gali. But yeah if they run into a rogue Tiger Clan, it would make sense for him to be there.
Heck, early on when we were all making predictions about characters and when they would show up, I said something about the T-Cats running into another group of T-Cats with Ben-Gali in charge. My idea was while the Lion-O led Cats were off looking for Book and the Stones, Ben Gali’s group was planning to take direct action against Mumm-Ra, and that would soilmehow clash with what the two T-Cat leaders believe.
While the later part is unlikely based on this description, now that the idea has been stated, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ben Gali show up in this Tiger clan.
I too think it would be great if Bengali is introduced on Saturday and at this point even a cameo would be enough for me. I don’t have any specific expectation of what his character is going to be like but considering how good the rest are I’m looking forward to finding out.
I am however hoping that when all the main characters are introduced that we get a proper intro.
Echoing what was said before, when I heard native son, I thought Bengali right away. Consider the cryptic brother reference in the OS and the familial relationship in the comics and it makes you wonder.
My thoughts are that Tygra’s father / mother are dead, and the only piece of family left is Bengali and the story goes from there.
Here is how i’d like Bengali to be introduced and it ties in with the Original story as well, According to the old Episodes Bengali was a Blacksmith back in Thundera and the Sword Of Omens was forged by a Thunderian Smith, probably from Bengali’s clan. Now we had witnessed Lion-O’s Sword Of Omens being broken broken many times and in one episode ‘Mumm-Ra Lives’ Bengali using his blacksmiths skills and the Hammer of Thundera reforged the sword that TugMug broke apart .
A nice way to bring in Bengali is to have Lion-O breaking his sword somehow in battle and goes searching to find this lost Thunderian to help him fix it! And in the same way Pumyra,Lynx-o and Bengali survived Thundera’s destruction in the OS, likewise these three managed to escape the Lizards attack which took down the Kingdom of Thundera in Third Earth. Bengali is my greatest of the three new Thundercats, i’d love to hear again his gnarling voice!!
Awesome tribute! I doubt Lion-O will break the sword on the new episode, but I have no doubt he’ll be a blacksmith. On that note, I wonder who will voice act him if he is in the next episode???
Yeah I guess I could’ve done that. Idk about the appearance or not, I just found the whole thing sort of suspicious. I have a gut feeling he will be in the episode, but whether it’s a cameo or not is up to the writers.
I agree that this is certainly the logical point to bring bengali in, a lost city of tigers, with bengali working as a blacksmith within that city? But that doesn’t necessarily mean the writers WILL, they may have some cool surprises up their sleeves!
Also I don’t think bengali would be tygras biological brother, they are different species of tiger remember?
Yeah, a lot of people want him to be his biological brother, and I don’t see it. I mean, Tygra called him “brother” in the OS, but it wasn’t because he was actually his brother. I really am hoping that he joins the other cats, though.
Exactly. Tygra called him “brother” in a reference to the ThunderCats brotherhood (like knighthood).
Also, I think I’m the only one around who wouldn’t be disappointed neither miss Bengali if he didn’t make an appearence in the series at all. Sorry. He was my least fav OS character, and I always thought his introduction in the series was a waste.
You’re not alone, he never really stood out to me or got my interest in the OS, he was probably my least favorite TC. But if they remake him to be a bit different in personality and an interesting character now (which they have done with many, so quite likely) then I’m all for it though.
