As the title states I’m looking for thundercats 2011 prototypes/test shots
I used to have 5 of them but foolishly sold them a while ago … Now my 2011 collection feels incomplete without them.
I don’t know if anyone still collects the 2011 line or not … Aside from myself and Addssse lol
But Seeing as I have literally every single figure and all their extensive variants all MISB I’m now looking to work on getting hold of all the prototypes I can find…
Let me know what you got fellas …
I remember a lot of forum members had some great ones back along … So even if your not selling then at least post some pics and give me a tease
I believe I have more of those than the regular as I’m in the UK and the tri punch cards were every where …
I’ll have to double check and see if I’m missing any later.
I have all the wave variants as the later ones came with collector cards and the early ones didn’t …
Also have two different tower of omens boxes…
I also noticed a slight difference in the tiger flyer boxes … I have 4 of them and I know 2 of them have a slight difference to the cardboard boarder (I’ll try and picture it if I remember)
I’ll have to double check my tri point cards and see if I have all of them …and the regular ones..
I snagged about 6 deluxe slithes & Claudus’s as they ended up on clearance at the entertainer for 2.99 each …
I was having a field day with all the late wave clearance sales in the uk …
All those end of line figures we thought we’d never see all showed up in bulk in the bargain stores …
Tesco had all the classics 8 inchers and 6 inchers stacked up in the bargain clearance bins …
It’s pretty much a collectors paradise on ebay right now as you can find everything dirt cheap …
I also remember the great prototype pics from the thundercats ws boards … Would be great to hear from some of those guys as I’m pretty sure we lost contact with a lot of fellow forum dwellers when W.S closed its forums…
I’ve also always wondered if there were any prototypes that never left the factory for characters we never saw … Maybe some early molds of Atticus and kaynar … Although I’m sure if they had then something would have surfaced by now …
Thats cool I didnt realize you were in the UK. I still have quite a few of those to get yet, mostly the larger scale as I believe I only have Panthro in the standard 4" to get yet. Usually shipping to the US makes it a bit steep.
I was able to grab the collector card figures as well. I just so happened to go into a store that had all of them so I snapped them up.
I always found it funny on the Tower boxes how the first version was accurate to what was in the box while the revision added figures to the picture that werent included. Were they trying to boost sales by making it look like you got more?
I didnt realize there was a Tyger Flyer variant (I only have one). I would be very interested to see some pictures if you get the time!
Wow, it sounds like you were very fortunate with the clearance. Congrats! I was able to find a few things by me on clearance, but it was generally just the same few figures that were flooded everywhere. I am a bit jealous haha.
As you said, it is nice that the prices have come down on ebay. I still have a decent number of holes to fill in this collection that I wasnt able to get originally due to my budget. The thrill of the hunt is great!
I agree the thundercats.ws site had a great group of Bandai collectors. Its a shame that we cant stay in touch with them via PM still.
I also am very intrigued by any prototypes that may be out there yet. I have to believe there are some hidden away. There is always the picture from the infamous gamestop ad. http://www.gamestop.com/common/images/lbox/320551b.jpg

Wow, those are some very nice test shots!! I especially like the Lizard, Mumm-ra, 8" Tygra and the orange ThunderRacer Tygra. Are the two 4" green Tygra’s the same? Thanks for sharing and if you ever decide to part with any please keep me in mind.
