The other week at a birthday party for a 2 year old my brother was in a conversation about some subject that lead to him asking me if I “remember that water gun” he got me when I was a kid. Yeah, this water gun was so unique and so cool as a kid, that was all the description I needed to remember over 20 years later. All I had to say was “Yeah, any water gun that requires batteries is a good water gun”. It made sound, but what was cooler to me was that you hold down the trigger and a constant stream of water blasts come firing out the muzzle until you run out of water, and the water tank was about the size of an adult’s fist. I mean this thing would put most water guns on the market today to shame, and give even the top of the line models a run for their money, lol.
Well, just for kicks, I decided to see if I could find it yesterday. Made a stop by my folk’s house and found it in under 5 minutes. I was taught well as a kid not to leave batteries in toys when not in use, so I was not surprised to see the battery compartment empty when I checked it, though there looks to be some slight corrosion on one of the spring connectors. Unfortunately it no longer works, but I think I’ll take it apart and see if I can fix it.
While looking at it though, I found an interesting bit of text on the side of it:

I had to do a double-take, yes, that was LJN stamped on the side of this thing. Well that sparked my interest even more so I when looking online and found this on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99UPQEFSGVQ .
Did anyone else here have one of these as a kid? I had/have the M-16 model. And yes, I can see why toy guns had to start putting bright orange muzzles on them, and now are made of all sorts of bright colors.
