I just found the information that there were at least two ThunderCats audiobooks produced.
As far as I know the following episodes were at the tapes - 2 stories on 1 tape:
The Thunder-Cutter
The Terror of Hammerhand
Return of the Driller
Safari Joe
Read by Kerry Shale. I think those are the same stories like the ones in the cartoon, but I’m not sure.
If anyone know more about those books - please tell
How good are they and do you like them? Are there more than 2 of them?

Audio tape 2-packs like the one you mention were not uncommon back in the 1980s, with several companies in the UK producing them for animated/children’s properties - I personally own ones for Challenge of the GoBots, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and The Sooty Show, and am also aware of a Transformers audio tape 2-pack as well!
In addition to the audio tape 2-pack you mention (which I’ve only ever seen twice - once in real life back in 1988, where I didn’t have the funds to pick it up, and once on an eBay auction, where the same reason for not getting it applied), Tempo also released another ThunderCats audio tape featuring two unique stories, “The Evil Harp of Charr-Nin” and “Secret of the Ice King”, both pretty faithful to the TV episodes of the same name! And yep, both of those stories were narrated by Kerry Shale!

Great, in Germany it was the same and I’m a huge fan of those kind of tapes.
I really like the German He-Man one’s produced by EUROPA and I own a lot of them :). But I didn’t know that Thundercats were produced, too. - Never saw a German language TC Audio Adventure - and I beliefe that they never produced one
I also tried to buy some of the English He-Man Audio tapes but I eighter I don’t see the tapes/LPs or the go to expensive… Luckily I was already able to listen to 3 of those - great
The Transformer Audio-Strorys in Germany were only “original-audio-recodings” of the cartoon and in my opinion → they are not worth 1 EUR…

Does the tape have a “Covertext” on its back that discribes its contet?
If so - what does it say?
I have the cassette case and original insert denoting the stories The Evil Harp Of Charr-Nin and Secret Of The Ice King but the but the tape inside is Safari Joe and The Return Of The Driller
That was fairly darn disappointing when I got it but I was pretty much happy to get anything you know…
I was at a store today and saw the thundercats logo and got all excited. What I purchased was the 2 story cassette with the evil harp of Char-ninn. It is unopened and in ok condition. The irony of course, is that I want to open it and listen to it, but I also want to keep the market value of it.
Anyway, I was wondering what this thing might be worth (ballpark) of course, and when I was searching, the thread you guys have going came up, so I thought I’d ask for some professional help.

I own the two-pack Chris mentioned and 2 “Book and Recording” issues; Exodus and The Mutants Alliance (Unholy Alliance), published by Peter Pan, then based in N.J. As for what they are worth? I don’t know.. I didn’t pay much for the 2 B&R and they are still sealed on card. The other one was a gift. I think they increased the value of my ThunderCats collection, but on their own…? Go and listen to it!
The copies of the audio books and tapes that I have are used, but it’s been ages since I had a working cassette player and I’m unsure of the quality. However, I do now have the means to rip cassette audio to digital format and it has been an aim of mine to try to see how one of those books would come out. If it’s a success, could very well be offering an audio download somewhere in the future. Wish me luck

Awesome stuff, those will rock as an update to your site! Out of curiosity, which tapes do you have? I can tell you that the rarest book-and-cassette pack I’ve heard of is the one released by Tempo in the UK of “ThunderCats Ho!” - I’ve only ever seen a sealed example on eBay, prior to that I had no idea it existed!
I have a few of the book-and-cassette stories - mostly in good condition, although to my great sadness my copy of “The Invisible Castle” (the Marks & Spencer exclusive book-and-cassette adaptation of “The Astral Prison”) is very worn out and won’t play properly.
Hi Chris. Would have to dig them up, but one that was easily accessible went with a Tempo Books gift set I bought from across the pond. The cassette is titled “The New Adventures of the Thundercats”. I think I have one or two more lying about somewhere. Hopefully, one or more of them will play and I can get a decent sound file to share.
