It would be kind of interesting to know what he is ‘busy’ working on as according to his IMDB he doesn’t have much on at present.
Artists themselves can be kinda crap at telling you what they are working on even though they are working on something. Because they are so hyper focus on the job itself, they don’t see much virtue on wasting time telling you they are doing something. Also NDAs. I’ve watched people who do stuff on the internet go deathly quiet for months only to randomly appear with something rather large and then you go “Oh now I get it.” and “I thought they were gone but they’re not” Can’t always get a publicist. I’m guessing Dan falls into that category.
Dan works at Riot games, which runs League of Legends now. He’s a Senior Artist there.
Ah, very cool. I am one to talk, I haven’t updated my website in nearly two years LOL.
I do recall there being mention of something popular-video-game-y Too lazy to find or figure what, thanks, Griz, for being just so on top of things.
He might be too busy, maybe he just doesn’t want to answer them, or he might not be allowed to answer any more questions for legal reasons, who knows.
Really He might not know ALL of the answers, other folks were in charge of other things. And It’s tough to know the minutia of other departments… even when the communication is good.
Should we still expect any answers from this?
I doubt we will ever have our questions answered at this point.![]()
Maybe one of the questions that should have been asked was ‘when are you going to answer the questions’? ![]()
Sadly despite trying a number of times to follow up with Dan, I’ve been met with radio silence. I will be reaching out to other members of the creative team from the show in the hopes of getting our answers.
That’s what I was afraid of. For whatever reason I never had any success in getting a response back from Dan on any of my questions.
Maybe he wasn’t pleased with some of the questions submitted or thought his answers would get too much criticism.
I think it’s highly unprofessional of Dan to be acting in this way, there might have been a few questions he felt he couldn’t answer, but the others he could had gone around and answered differently, even throw in his own explanation on the show’s intended resolution for the characters, was spin-off in place and the intended audience etc.
On titansgo.net we had a Q&A put forward to Rob Hoegee (who was the writer for teen titans) and one of the artists (it might have been Jon Suzuki) posting some stuff, heck I even had a games designer from the horrific seven kingdoms conquest game reply to my question in what the hell happened to a once promising strategy series.
A lot of questions we got for Rob was just ‘spam’ and some questions were put up by the admins themselves and were answered, and its not like some of the questions were bad or couldn’t be reworded.
For the record I do like what Dan has mostly did with the ideas but that was to start with and their were some actions that were controversial (pymura evil for example) but that comes hand in hand in giving the show a darker edge and if your going to do something like that (including the possible ideas for the next season had it continued) then stand by that, post your reasons for why the show was.
To seemingly go back on his word to reply or just ignore emails is counter productive and serves to alienate a fan core of the series.
I think he will not disclose the plot by legal rights issues with WB.

The evil Pumyra comes from the old comics, when Mumm-Ra gives her the “Star of Thundera” and she wants to kill Lion-O and Panthro.

DN no longer works with WB and he didn’t write the script.
I doubt there is any legal rights preventing him from doing so. He no longer works there and there is no finalised scripts and there wont be a second series so its not as if he is giving away top secret information.
I don’t want to judge Dan because I don’t know the situation but it will be disappointing if we never get any more details. The show had so much more story to tell!
AFAIK he agreed to this well after he left WB. So I doubt he would’ve agreed to it if there were legal reasons for him not to answer.
Though, that being said, I do know that’s why he stopped uploading Thundercats artwork to deviantart. Cause he lost access to all the concept art.
Hey Balgus! Could you elaborate on what “lost access” entails? Did he lose the images or lost the rights to the art?
Im sure Dan has his reasons for not replying back just yet. He, I do know is very very busy with his new job
