Yes the new series makes Tygra look more prickish…rather then he was in OC where he was second in command and Lion-O would seek him for guidance.
Cheetara is not the Cat she was in the OC. She is def playing both sides of the coin. My earlier statment of watching your step meant you will hear she was only affectionate sisterly to Lion-O and in other countries they kiss all the time. Sorry I didnt buy the ticket to this train ride either.
I wouldn’t throw it away though because of the last two episodes. The Pedlars really pulled on the heart strings and the drifter episode was old school anime.
I don’t know if it’s CN fearing the show won’t make it or there really trying to make a story out of it. Typical show’s seem to lose interest after a few and the story line just dies, Avatar seemed to do this towards the end too just CRAM it all in and finish it. CN droped NARUTO after awhile and alot of good anime on at saturday night.
I love Lion-O always have and I do understand it’s not called the legend of Lion-O. I would love the see more character development before they add more FOOD TO THE MENU ie new cats. Like what started the hatred between brother’s Tygra being adopted. Willykit and Willykat never had a back story as well they could tell a whole story for the show as well.
As I’m writing this there is a special one hour special of Johnny Test on. Why couldn’t episode 12 and 13 be the same hour long. I really hope it’s not a toy market show mixed with the genious of Japan Anime. There’s so many long series of Anime even DBZ is still going.
Wasn’t Justice League nearly an hour long show? It would’ve been awesome if they brought that back with TC. That way each episode would truly feel like a whole story is being told, more development for more people, with an eventual epic culmination.
Seems like theres two types of show 1/2 to keep us just enough entertained we don’t go watch something else.
Or the cliffhanger’s “Previously on Avatar” I’m sorry I keep saying 1/2 hour there technically 23min. Avatar was 3 season’s and 61 episode’s felt like alot more. Reading TC is 52
Essentially, yeah. Although, technically, with all the commercial breaks, it would only be 45 mins, and with how much of the fans would like more development…I dunno either. Or break up some of the important events, yet keep the excitement or anticipation for it. Like you said (I think:confused: sorry, long day at work) there was a LOT going on in this last episode; either stretch it out (finale, why not?) or completely break-up some of the prime events so they seem more natural, less contrived and less forced.
The show has potential and the toyline is decent for children. From the whole reanimation, what is unacceptable is Bandai’s take on the classic character figures.
I absolutely love the show so far. It’s very well contained, the characters are engaging and the situations they have encountered are inventive, the action is solid, most of the animation is gorgeous, and there’s the promise of more to come.
It’s what the OS should have been but couldn’t have been because of the time.

APPLAUSE!!! I remember how awkward Star Trek:The Next Generation was during it’s first season. In fact, I recall every reboot/spinoff that I’ve watch having growing pains. It’s normal for season 1.
I’ve found myself in this weird position where while I did enjoy the show very much, now I feel very dispassionate about watching more of it. I’m not sure if this is a reaction to fandom drama after episode 13 or a reaction to the show itself, but I pretty much feel ready to move on to other things.
Weird, weird feeling. But I did enjoy most episodes while watching.

I think the drama did get to a lot of people; essentially you ended up talking in circles and it gets tiring when you have ones refusing to acknowledge anything you say as having any validity. At first, I was laughing because I’m weird like that (debate sparks amusement-what?), and then it just got old. So quickly.
Long time lurker, first time poster to these parts. I absolutely love reading what everyone has to say. So, am I liking the NS? ABSOLUTELY! As a fan of the OS, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but wow, I’m loving this even more than the OS. The animation is top notch, the story line so far has really grabbed my attention and I’m loving the characters personalities. Flaws and all!
I agree. This is SO true of so many shows. The first season is awkward. They have to spend time introducing you to the characters and developing them. They also have to spend time developing the the story line and giving the back story along the way. I always try to give a show time to get over it’s growing pains. Sometimes shows don’t hit their stride until the 3rd season.
And one last thing, as you can probably tell from my name, I ship. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine and for ONCE my couple actually became canon and I’m loving it. for that from me.
The last three episodes have really upped the ante, great storytelling, mature themes raised and focus is laid on the past of the Thundercats, a point we all wanted to be further explored in the original. Overall the first 13 episodes have paved the way for a promising cartoon, which becomes better episode by episode. DeMattei’s Song of the Petalars delved so well into the meaning and essence of life, scenarios such as this aren’t very often stressed on modern day cartoons,especially the action-based ones, and i am happy that Thundercats 2011 so far have shown the variety as well as depth covering a wide plot-range. DeMattei’s btw is very well known for his intense charectirization and psychological themes, he is one of my best comic book writers and i hope he writes more of the new series in the future.
For some fans, episodes like ‘The forest of Magi Oar’, which laid emphasis on the nature and the importance of saving our palnet from ecological disasters such as the destruction of the rainforests or ‘The duelist and the Drifter’ which stressed the essence of the will of power might seem boring or meaningless but let’s not forget that the Thundercats cartoon has a long tradition in cultivating ethos, also as i mentioned above it’s so geat to see that a cartoon can reach into important topics and be much more than a mere swashbuckling adventure.
All in all i am very pleased with the direction of the show and even though some few minor points exist, they don’t affect the overall great quality of Thundercats 2011.:liono:thumbsup:
