Hey guys! I just picked this Panthro up on ebay. He is pretty much identical to a regular Panthro paint application except his chest is solid gray without the white pattern. I have seen a few more of these in the past. I know there was one on eBay awhile back, and I saw two at Comicon in San Diego last year. I believe Panthro appeared this way in a few early promotional pics of the first series of Thundercats. Anyone know when this guy was released or where?

Looks like somebody on the assembly line forgot to paint in the area on Panthro’s chest. Oh, well, it happens. :rolleyes:
Are these paint variations often related to using more than one factory? I always wondered whether LJN had a single centralized plant that the toys were produced out of. The number of variations seem to suggest that more than one plant was used.
Does this figure have the same date stamp as the regular Panthro? I know in the GI Joe line you can tell a little about the origin of the figure (where/when it was produced) by the date stamp on the figure’s thigh.
Very cool, I have seen Panthros with different shades of paint on his chest but never one with no paint at all.
