Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself, I’m Greg and I’m a chemistry professor at a public university in the US. About a year ago I started to sell of all these toys I had since childhood since they had been sitting in a closet for over a decade and while I sold quite a bit it totally made me fall in love again with the LJN toy line. These we’re just the coolest figures ever!
Like most everybody on here I was a big fan of the new show, I really liked a lot of the directions they took (although the stones were getting a little old, and season 2 sounded like it might have not been too great based on the panel of the creators I heard, but that’s my opinion I guess). Shame the new figures didn’t remotely compare to the old ones!
My interests in this board was piqued by all the amazing preproduction finds like the Mad Bubbler, Red Eye, the unproduced Mumm-ra, and all the cool hard copies and test shots in recent years. I think its so crazy, that I’ve been collecting tcats since I from 6-19 and none of this ever showed up then in the course of 3 years every holy grail of 80’s toys starting popping up! I really appreciate the members here who are willing to share photos of their great hauls and the stories behind them!
My collecting hobbies are turning towards concept art and preproduction pieces but I don’t have high hopes for finding to many people willing to sell those treasures. If so, I have quite a few 80’s MOTU, MOTUC, and some MOC and loose tcats for trade.
Favorite Good Tcats: Cheetara, Lynx-o
Favorite Bad Guys: Capt. Shiner (I think they could have done a lot more with him!) and obviously Mumm-ra. Mongor was kinda cool, I’m surprised they let that slide with the obvious evil goat devil reference.
