Can’t seem to find an image of the voice of Wilykit, I didn’t see anything conclusive in my google search.
I agree with balgus. Not all sibling rivalry is friendly and too much of it can actually cause a barrier in their relationship. I think the fact that Tygra made the comment about being second to everything but the crown reveals a deep seated resentment that Tygra feels. And I don’t think his teasing Lion-O is good-natured on his end. I think he feels genuinely hurt by not being elligible for the crown, though he understands it’s not Lion-O’s fault, it does hurt him at a deeper level. So he’s likely conflicted by those feelings and his love for his little brother.
Honestly, I cracked up. If anything, I like the idea of Lion-O meeting Cheetara and the others as the story unfolds. It’s a great way to introduce the ThunderCat nobles in this telling of the ThunderCats.
I didn’t think of Lion-O’s change of voice to be an attempt to imitate Batman. It seems the guy lowering his voice to try and impress a woman has been done many times in tv shows and movies. The most recent I can think of was in the Green Lantern movie. That was a hilarious scene, especially when she exclaimed, “You don’t think I’d recognize you because I can’t see your cheek bones?!”
Wow, I just watched it and I can say I am -very- happy with how it looks so far. The animation is smooth and flawless, beautiful to watch. The diffrent ‘Cat’ look to the citizens is great too, not just humans airburhsed with spots and stripes. The voice acting…god can I just listen to Tygra talk all day please? Sheesh such a fangirl still. Cheetara sounds great, Lion-o is perfect, Snarf is adorable, Kit and kat OMG SO CUTE.
Only thing I’m iffy on is voice acting, but the action was pretty smooth. Lion-O had this brawler like fighting style going on, Cheetara and Tygra had a more refined acrobatic
It looks like the reptiles are being subjugated by the cats, Lion-O is the only one to see reason. Which probably explains why their kingdom might fall later on.
I concede. Watching it again, I don’t think he is Panthro. He’s not big enough. He looks smaller than Lion-O.
Upon watching it, here are my new conclusions for the show…
Lion-O is the same essence as the original Lion-O. He has a stronger sense of right and wrong than that of his colleagues. Ie. the fact that Tygra had no problem with the mob beating up the two lizard people but Lion-O insisting it was wrong, stating he didn’t think they should always have to be their enemies and then going to stop the mob. Lion-O’s strength of character is as intact now as it was in the original series.
The ThunderKittens are going to provide moral lessons that kids can relate too. It’s obvious that their going to have to learn from the older Cats that stealing is wrong, that greed is a bad pursuit, as well as some manners. There is the potential for some good drama involving the Kittens as they appear to be orphans.
I also noticed that Kat seems to be more the lead this time around. Before, Kit always seemed to be more the lead.
As I watched the section with the Kittens, it occured to me for the first time that the new ThunderCats will consist of two sets of siblings. Not just the Kittens this go around but also Lion-O and Tygra. This could provide for an interesting dynamic between the two sets of siblings.
BTW, I loved the little wink Tygra gave.
I also loved the cat sounds added in. Lion-O’s growl and the cat sound the Thunderian made just befor Tygra punched him. I also noticed that the Cats have fangs. It’s done well though and looks natural.
I do find it very interesting how Thunderian society is portrayed so differently this go around. Before, the society came across as having been perfect but here we see it’s far from it.
It was awesome! X3 I can’t wait! The animation is great and the voice acting is solid. This show is definetly different than anything on air right now. And from the little I saw, I think it can distance itself from Airbender.
Well watching the 9 minute preview its clear the cat are at the top of the order of things on 3rd earth and we clearly see racial prejudice towards dog people and lizards/reptilian.
I can see the cat kingdom/thunderians fall much like the roman empire, which i’m liking a lot.
I wonder if it will lead up to the destruction of Thundera, or not, and then continue as the original does? Leaving Thundera, to Earth to search for the Stones of Power and the Book of omens, and possibly meet Panthro there?
I don’t think Lion-O had a stronger sense of right and wrong than his colleagues in the original show; even more, in the first episodes,a dn in many of the following ones, they taught him a lot about it. For example, in “Slaves of Castle Plun-Darr”, eh was expecting gratitude, and it was Panthro and Tygra who told him making right is not always to recieve gratefulness. I think in the original show, all of the noble TCs always showed a good sense of what’s right and wrong.
That’s why I didn’t like it in this snippet. Again, shows Tygra as the arrogant guy in the gang, the one who (I suspect) will always lose and be humilliated or taught a lesson at the end by the others.
Also, I did’t see it as Tygra stopping Lion-O because he thought it was right, but because it was natural, which is deifferent. Maybe he grew up that way and has to learn that. And he does, as he enters the fight… so he learns fast
Besides, Lion-O showed to ba as competitive as anyone else. He told Tyra he was going to ring the bell, not the otehr way round.
I remember towards the end, Lion-O’s wisdom seemed to outshine that of the other adult ThunderCats. Hmm…

I saw Tygra stopping him because that’s the way he was raised. It’s probably the same as Claudus’s beliefs. But Lion-O thinks differently and I’ll bet that’s because of Jaga. I think the only reason why Tygra entered the fight was to protect his little brother, not because he suddenly believed in Lion-O’s cause.
