Im very sure this has been adressed before but i was wondering are the MOC original 8 backs the most sort after out of the figures? Ive been offered a number of them at varying prices, some HUGE and just wondered if it was worth it. Anyway thats all i really wanted to ask. Take care
8 backs are some of the most desired of all the series because they are from the 1st series and are more rare because there is considerably less of them out there. Some 8 backs may take you months, some years to acquire due to extreme rarity and when they do come to the market they sell for BIG bucks.
8 backs from characters such as Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro and Tygra always command top money. You have to realize that not many survived out there because they were open by kids back then
It seems like the Thundercats themselves do well when they show up, especially Lion-O, but the mutants can be had reasonably. Even Mumm-Ra with and without battery is often for sale. I think it goes Lion-o, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Mumm-Ra, Jackalman, Slythe, Monkian in order of value/scarcity. Even a nice clear looking 8 back Cheetara and Kit just went for 92 on ebay, so they are out there to be had. I’ve sold 2 each of Monkian Mumm-Ra and Slythe graded, and also a Tygra, Panthro, and Lion-O graded and several ungraded that passed through from different large purchases so they aren’t impossible to get ahold of and usually change hands in the 100-200 range. They are absolutely the more valuable of the individual figures vs 14 and 22 backs but I wouldn’t put any kind of astronomical premium on them.
