Just because I wanted to change the narrative a bit. I constantly see fans throwing around the line “52 episodes are confirmed.” I’m sorry but that’s false and just not true. I’ve done research and tried to find something, ANYTHING to prove that a second batch of 26 episodes was ordered increasing the show to 52 episodes and yet I can find none. There is no proof of this at all.
Apparently the art director, Dan Norton, “tweeted it” in 2011. This is why I hate Twitter. Apparently you can make these official, published comments but they are hard to find or refer to again after a certain amount of time. I cannot find the actual tweet or a picture of the tweet anywhere. The creators of the show in interviews talked about 26 episodes that were produced. Andrea Romano recorded the voice talent for 26 episodes and nothing after that. Andrea Romano who cast and voice directed the show, I personally spoke with her in February and I asked her about this and here is what she said ON THE RECORD:
TVO: Thundercats, will there be another 26 episodes? I love the show.
Andrea Romano: I hope so. I hope so. I think it’s a wonderful. It’s not been promoted as well as it should have been. And I think there are people who would be watching it if they even knew it was there. So thank you for saying that you like it. I like it too. I’m very proud of the work on it.
TVO: I read the art director said they would get another 26, have you heard anything?
Andrea Romano: There is talk of another 26. It’s not 100% confirmed. And until they say, “Yes go ahead and record an episode,” I don’t fully believe that it’s really happening.
OK so not an outright denial that there never will be another 26 episodes. But hardly confirmation that 52 episodes have already been confirmed. WB/CN never said there are another 26 episodes after the end of this season. Sam Register, Michael Jelenic, and Ethan Spaulding never said there will be another 26 episodes. The only episodes of a second 26 episodes for 52 episodes total is a reference to a vague Tweet I can’t even find a sign of anymore from art director Dan Norton.
So there is no actual proof that the show got another 26 episodes and the idea it will be on for 52 episodes until Cartoon Network says it is happening or Andrea Romano says she is in the process of recording them or the writers saying Studio 4C is animating it as we speak, than it’s a myth. All that is certain at this point is the 26 episodes that were produced. Will there be more? Well who knows. But the talk of the 52 episodes that fans here and on Thundercats.ws perpetuated is not true and a myth. Now if someone can show a direct link to the tweet that could be helpful. However, since Dan Norton is not a producer or a showrunner, if he did actually say that I imagine he spoke too soon. And regardless, he’s the art director. He’s not the executive producer or show runner. This goes above his pay grade.

Vile one noone cares about your negativity. If all they are doing at the moment is AIMING for 52 episodes then I’m gonna support that as much as I can in order to see it happen. If u don’t like the positivity here I’m sure there are some ben 10 or power ranger forums somewhere you can troll on.

The 52 episode thing was what Michael Jelenic said they needed for the story arc they have planned. The Dan Norton post you are referring to was on Facebook, not Twitter. I don’t remember what he said exactly, but it was something to the effect of Thundercats being around for a while.

Two things i have to say:
1)You can’t dismiss so easily and call it a ‘myth’ what many fans justifiably believe for the 52 episodes run.Unless seen nothing can be taken for granted but there are ‘OFFICIAL STATEMENTS’ which corroborate that and have made the fans speak as such.

A myth? It was mentioned as a comment by one of those working on the show. Nobody has ever said 52 episodes WILL DEFINATELY happen… what has been said is that 52 episodes were planned and ordered. However ‘ordered’ can be interpreted in many ways. Doesn’t mean that another 26 episodes will be made, since things change often with TV series.
