Unfortunately not TCL but www.thundercast.net is ranked #1 in Google rankings. Type Thundercats Podcast on Google and we show up on the #1 spot. With a link on a number #1 spot site, TCL should move upa few spots. We are currently at #31 which is the very top of page 4 and in Yahoo we rank at #14…2nd page with www.thundercats.net showing up at #1

Yeah you shouldve seen how far down TCL was, it was shameful. I really dont know how the rankings have improved with TCL. I think Manny did something, I dont know if it will help but i submitted something called a site map to Google so it may or may not help. I really didnt expect the podcast site to be #1 its been only a few months since it has been running so something different is being done with that site that it shows up at #1. I would think it is very hard for a new site to show up on the #1 spot unless you pay for your spot

It must change from day to day…I dont know whow it can change so drastically. However Thundercats Podcast shows our podcast at #1
I think Google picks up some of the first text that shows up on our front page (ie from the most recent entry in the blog). When google updates every couple of weeks, our ranking may change. The last time we got updated we went to #35 or so because Manny changed the title of the site from TCL - A fan’s resource site to: TCL - A ThunderCats resource site.
The word ThunderCats in our title, in the main page tags and in the body of the main page will help us get a higher ranking, but Google works more from the number of links to our page from other highly ranked sites.
I do actually wonder if Celeste’s action of removing us from her links page has had an impact.
A meta tag description with Thundercats in it would help too. Don’t know if the site uses that, but it probably should. Google picks up my meta tag site description, so it doesn’t matter what I have on my main page. Changing the page titles was a good step in the right direction.
Not sure if Celesta dropping your link hurt that much - you’re higher than her with rankings, no? Or does that matter?

It’s on one of my webspace’s, but my Thundercats site hasn’t had that url in some time. That account has been a sort of catch-all for some time. So I’m surprised it’s first page already, especially since I think only my site and EOT are currently linking out to it.
I agree. I wish that TCL could be changed to Thundercats Lair. I reckon it would make a big difference in our google rankings. I personally, have always hated the abbreviated name ‘TCL’

I like the abbreviation “TCL” because it’s kind-of like immediate “brand recognition”, if you like - it’s short, sharp, and easy to say, and you’ll notice a lot of the blurb I write uses it! 
Nonetheless, I understand and agree with the need to push the word “ThunderCats” in terms of our Google ranking, etc.

TCL is nice for shorthand, when mentioning the site here and there. Easier to use and perhaps easier to remember, but I also agree that when it comes to page titles etc, repitition of key words - especially ‘thundercats’ - is important if google rankings matter to you. You chose a name and url with thundercats in it, might as well repeat it often for the search engines
My site title and url both didn’t used to have ‘thundercats’ anywhere in it. Adding those things likely helped me finally move farther up in rankings (that, and stopping the habit of moving the site around from host to host and losing domains in the process). I also added the ‘a thundercats fan site and resource’ to the page title sometime back so that keyword would be included, seems how the site’s name lacks it in my case. But because of my site’s name, I get a lot of traffic looking for info on the Return comic or the ep Return to Thundera. Go figure
You did add a similar thing here, so it may well be good enough where the page titles are concerned at least.
TCL could still be used by visitors of the site and in blurbs, I don’t see the harm in that. Kind of like with EOT, if the two become interchangable and equally recognizable, everyone wins.
Update…made a few more tweaks…and now we’re in the middle of page 3…moving on up! Making more improvements this week which should help the rest of the pages, not just the front page, move up on the rankings.

I also think I figured out why the wiki benefitted so much from the purrsiathunder.net domain, even though my tcats site hasn’t been on it in an age.
There’s a thing called the Open Directory Project (or dmoz) and my information for that was horribly out-dated, as were some of the descriptions, too - which also explained why the wiki was showing up in Google with my old Tcats page’s site description. It seems the big search engines get a lot of their info from that project, or at least rely on it more than other things. However, the updates may take a while to register in Google so we’ll soon see if I’m onto something.
In the meantime, I did suggest TCL for their listings when I volunteered to be an editor for the thundercats category - the listings there in general are very very out-dated and a lot of great, newer things aren’t even on it. I aims to change that if they let me!
A little more tinkering – last night we were middle of page 2, which is the highest we’ve been ranked on Google. We’re currently on the top of the 3rd page…#22.
Slowly, but surely…
This morning I noticed TCL was at the top of page two…funny how it can flucuate so quickly. I bet before you know it, you’ll crack that threshhold and onto page one!

Just an update…did even more search engine optimizing regarding the front page and…
We are now only behind Wikipedia’s ThunderCats page and the Ultimate ThunderCats page on Google!! Not counting the video and image links, we are #3 on Google!
