06.20.06 Meeting Notes

Encyclopedia Project

[li]Finalized writing format: Team/Group/Race Affiliation, Origin, Weapon(s), Strengths & Weaknesses[/ul]Toys[/li][ul]
[li]New section: Promotional Materials will consist of any paper and/or media advertisements regarding the toys.[/li][li]Dealer catalog is 75% complete…finishing the scripting.[/li][li]Plush Snarf will be included in a future update.[/li][li]Playsets and Sword of Omens pages are in development hell. LOL[/li][li]Variations subsection will begin.[/li][li]Cardback page is complete; will be included in a future update.[/li][li]Prototype subsection will also be created soon.[/li][li]Cleanup still being done on the rest of the toy guide.[/ul]Cartoon[/li][ul]
[li]Majority team ruling was made that the Merchandise section will NOT be included in the cartoon area and will continue to be a key area of the site, meaning it will be on the main navigation bar.[/li][li]DVD section is pretty much complete. I’d like to add some things before I put it online.[/li][li]Still gathering information on the Cartoon Overview page.[/li][li]Episode Guide still a work in process.[/li][li]Final decision that Animation Art will become a subsection to the Cartoon area. Mark AWOL = my decision.[/ul]Comics[/li][ul]
[li]First 10 issues of the Marvel/Star series was just recently put online.[/li][li]Working with Chris on the exclusive features subsection which includes print ads and interview(s).[/ul]Community[/li][ul]
[li]Preliminary discussion about Fan-Art subsection headed by Kyle.[/li][li]Podcast discussion…five people are interested thus far. Day and times were discussed as well as software and other requirements. Podcast thread will be created ASAP for further discussion.[/ul]Message Board[/li][ul]
[li]Ideas asked to help keep the board active and growing.[/li][li]Allow announcement threads to be open for discussion…giving opportunity for more participation.[/li][li]Episode talkback will continue as a test phase. We all noticed and agreed that the majority of posts are from team members. Need to find ideas to get others to interact with us.[/li][li]MannyC: Kyle wants to be a mod for the fan-art forum. :)[/li][li]Kyle suggested that a message board graphic link should be shown on the main page.[/ul]General Stuff[/li][ul]
[li]Revealed sample redesigns…thinking about combining certain designs. Thread will be created on this.[/li][li]Majority ruled on getting rid of the domain name “catslair.net” and keeping thundercatslair.org as the only and official name for the site.[/li][li]Still deciding whether to stick with current host or look for a new one.[/li][li]New contest coming soon. Will make new thread about this topic and will be asking for ways to do the contest. Message board related a key for the contest.[/li][li]Brainstorm ideas to promote the site. Kyle added that the site was difficult to find.[/li][*]Final score England vs. Sweden 2-2.[/ul]And that’s a rap! Whew…we talked about a lot of stuff.

Thanks Manny, I am sorry you could not make the meeting, I think you would have enjoyed it and taken a great deal from it. I know I did!

Saying that, can I just praise TCL-Manny for brilliantly sumarizing our meeting. Everything we mentioned has been covered. Believe me when I say it must have taken him ages…there was a substancial amount of text to filter through!

I think we should do these meetings on a regular basis just so we can all see what is going on.. I was not aware such a range of projects were on the go and found it a nice way to begin to get to know everyone!..:slight_smile:

It can be quite challenging to get everyone together at one time, but in principle I certainly agree. I think I once suggested that several of us could actually converge on the TCL.Org Chatroom more frequently on an “unofficial” basis, just to chat and/or compare notes on what we’re each doing. As I’ve observed before, several of us UK guys are all online at the same time, so it would be quite easy for all of us to speak together on a regular or at least semi-regular basis! :slight_smile:
