His name is Alex Bickmore…Neil would tell you more about him but I myself had a few clashes over at he-man.org. It all was resolved and i would say we are on good terms now. It wouldnt hurt to ask him if it would be cool to host them here. He has howevr told me before that he would not be willing to give up anything that would be unique to his page
in my view, anything that is publically displayed on ebay is public domain and we can host any ebay pics that we wish.
we should be under no obligation to remove the pic even if the new owner requests that we remove the graphic. our only motivation to do so should be one where the site has an interest in doing as requested… ie: some alternate type of site contribution.
my only reason for saying that we shouldn’t post this piece on our site is that its damned fugly!
Alex also has some cool cels by the way, more than what he ever posts, I think he probably has a decent He-Man cel collection by now.

I know of Alex Bickmore - I believe I’d be correct in saying that he’s not the easiest of folks to get along with…? I can imagine an item like that artwork would be right up his street, and find a home on www.toyarchive.com . Still, I suppose it might be worth asking on the off-chance!

My advice here is to contact the Ebay seller immediatly and ask if we may use his pics on the site. Now the seller ‘has’ his sale I’m pretty sure he will say it’s ok.
However I do not want anything associated with Alex Bickmore on my site section (and if possible this site period!) This is something I feel very strongly about! I don’t and never will like the guy, he is so far up himself!
I’d strongly advise nobody contacts him, but if folks wish to it’s up to them I guess.
Neil, I guess we are both on the very same page as far as Alex goes. I didnt really want to come across the wrong way but truthfully since you already mentioned it I would much rather not deal with Alex. I would post my saved PM’s from he-man.org but rest assured that they were not nice PM’s that we excahnged so I’ll leave it at that.Bottom line, al though it would be nice to showcase it I would rather not showcase it than deal with Alex again
I didnt realize that intergalatic space bunny was alex. Yeah I have a feeling he wouldnt want us using the image when he will probably put it up on his site.
Fact remains though that we don’t need his permission to post a picture that has been on ebay. The picture doesn’t belong to him, only the art does.
Coming from someone who is very anal about who gets to display images of my cels, I can tell you that I’d have no right (legal or ethical) to an image that goes up on public domain like ebay.
He’d have no recourse whatsoever.
I’ve emailed the seller myself Hopefully he will reply soon.

Mark this is not about Alex Bickmore at all. We all decided a long time back that any pictures we did not take ourselves or that were not donated specifically to us, we would get the permission of the owner first. This is NOT due to the legality of it all, but purely out of curtesy for person who took the pics.

Neil, I remember the discussions, partly they were raised because of how I made it very clear that if I ever chose to leave the site, that the cel images I contribute would leave with me.
I am glad we have an eye towards seeking permission, but I’ll just say again that any pictures that make their way onto ebay can be posted here on our site or anywhere on the web because they have just become public domain. I know I take that chance every time I list an ebay item.
We shouldn’t avoid posting a great picture just because we’re trying to be courteous to everyone. If someone is displaying a privately owned image on their own site, or on a forum for limited sharing amongst members I think we should certainly seek permission.
Ebay is a free for all though. I believe we should make this exception to our rule.
