She looks amazing! Super hyped!
Steps to collecting Super7 Ultimates Thundercats
- See prototypes in series/wave announcement. Get pumped.
- Order while totally pumped up.
- Wait a really long time. Pump slowly fades.
- Wait even longer. Get irritated.
- Here they come! Cautiously pumped.
- Jk, wait longer. Get sad. Then mad.
- Okay now they’re coming! Huge pump up.
- Production figures revealed. Rioting in the streets.
- Get really irritated, frustrated and mad.
- Receive figures. Get sort of pumped but still kind of deflated.
- Take a few days to come to terms with all the shortcomings.
- Generally enjoy your figures.
- Repeat.
I think Super7 knows and expects this.
You forgot getting a “booster” pack. :laugh
I joke, hopefully their future figure waves can be of far better quality and look more like the prototypes and be a lot more accurate to the source material.
Awesome!
Just finished watching ToyBro’s review video of the Ultimates Cheetara.
My observation was: isn’t the Cheetara figure a bit small in height? Always thought she was a somewhat tall girl, almost the same height as Tygra or maybe at least taller than Panthro.
Also, I wonder if the figure can do the real Cheetara speed running pose like in the opening. ToyBro’s running pose was somewhat a little limited. After all, this is Cheetara’s character essence, so I feel that if I cannot do a good running pose on her I may get disappointed or something.
I think she looks very good! No deep knee bend so your running poses will not be overly dynamic but more than good enough for me. I love the way they did her staff on the arm piece, and the alternate heads will allow her a full range of articulation.
She’s actually in the correct scale according to the scale guide, at least I’m pretty sure she is. She just seems so small because of that damn Pumyra whom they barely leveled down.
Cheetara is an okay figure but the sculpt is still very bland with no definied musculature and the overall proportions still look off for the character and the animation.
At least they corrected her height…making the Pumyra even worse looking.
The articulation is still very disappointing and limited for the character.
…in general yeah i like how she came out…but i don’t like the bracelet/ staff holder when it is empty i would prefer another one switch out normal to that not working flame thing…and her running head…yeah that hair looks like an earless bold drag queen is gonna loose her wig …ouch but i cant wait for her…we said how awfully tall pumyra is?
I don’t think she looks too short. It’s hard to tell from the toy bro vid due to the angle but her eye level looks to he at chin height for Tygra, which matches the police line-up reference. Lion-O is the one who is too short, he should be a head taller than Cheetara and about a half head taller than Tygra. Panthro is also correctly between the height of Cheetara and Tygra.
The articulation on this thing is severely lacking and the final sculpt is compromised to say the least. Looks like they fixed the hips by making the torso wider to accommodate the use of their antiquated buck. She doesn’t look athletic like the prototype. Why doesn’t she have a bicep swivel like Pumyra? her arms don’t even look human, they’re like drumsticks (the turkey variety).
Here is a picture of the prototype for the upcoming Renet figure by Neca from their TMNT line. As far as I know she is not meant to be a sprinter, but her articulation means she has no problem adopting that sort of pose. For a figure that will have come out in a timely manner, has a great sculpt, articulation and poseability and will be half the price of Cheetara, you have to wonder exactly what Super 7 is thinking at this point.
Also saw Fwoosh’s running pose photo. https://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_165607790312010&key=3cec309a1072beb22f61d4fb164c0fb6&libId=l4si0n1v010030nj000MLj24dklex&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fthefwoosh.com%2F2022%2F06%2Fsuper7-thundercats-ultimates-cheetara-first-look%2F&v=1&out=https%3A%2F%2Fi1.wp.com%2Fthefwoosh.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2022%2F06%2FSuper7-ThunderCats-ULTIMATES-Cheetara-Review-run-2.jpg&ref=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FLaRYp5aBCV&title=Super7%3A%20ThunderCats%20ULTIMATES!%20Cheetara%20First%20Look&txt=
Is this the best Cheetara’s running pose can do? :00
Say that I will use a Play Arts Kai stand to make a dynamic running pose on Cheetara without actually falling. I hope it can pose and flex more.
As @Booshman mentioned the shoulder sculpts look awful.
Cheetara’s articulation is extremely lacking. Elbow and knee joints that can’t bend more than 90 degrees is absolutely pathetic for figures called “Ultimates.” What’s strange is they have less range of motion than the original MOTUC figures. Very badly designed and engineered figures.
I own far larger and bulkier action figures like Marvel Legends Hulk and Xemnu etc that have far better enginereed articulation and a lost more range of motion.
Also that Renet figure looks amazing. Aside from the unique sculpt it’s accurate to the source material and not put on an awful MOTUC buck..
I like that picture mostly for the classic ThunderCats logo at the bottom.
Got my Cheetara figure on Saturday! Really nice that the shipment/delivery was so fast. I understand many or some have issues with the figure but I truly love the figure.
Anyone had their Cheetaras yet? I noticed a fair number of owners who shared theirs that the eye stamps on the running head was weird and disproportionate to the actual eye sculpt.
An interesting review of the figure showing how limited the articulation is on the figure.
Also the crotch design looks awful.
Love it!
