No idea. I didn’t know they would be variants.
Nor I. I know the TMNT first series’ second run had a different shade of plastic used for the “weapons tree”. In that light, Panthro could have a pretty obvious variation, but Lion-O is a big question mark.
If it’s meant for people who missed out then I don’t imagine that it will be anything major.
Isn’t wave 2 of the reaction figs set to drop Mar 2nd?

Brian has posted on Instagram that these are not variants. That was a mistake on BBTS. They will be the same run as the first time, although I really hope they correct Panthro’s underwear to the correct blue color.
I’m glad these were made available again. I missed out on these the first time.
Yes, it’s worked out well and pretty soon after you mentioned about wave 1 too.
Awesome! Thank you!
The other part is that BBTS is selling it with $5 more than the original SRP. If this is actually the same, shouldn’t it stay SRP like the ones they presell the first time? It’s not even the same as the GITD Mumm-Ra to give these Lion-O/Panthro the same price now.
Great news for anyone who missed out. It’s also a great sign that these are still in demand despite a full run already from both Mattel and S7.
My guess is they will have to do the same for Cheetara and Tygra down the road, if not others. Those will have only had one run and so the supply will very likely not match the demand.
Well yeah, putting the price up is a bit opportunistic and a slap in the face. They weren’t even cheap in the first place.
Yes, I always felt there would be quite a high demand because it’s a toy line in the adult collector market that hasn’t really had a proper run until now. The gap in the market is still there. The vast majority of what is coming is stuff we’ve never had before. If people start now because a decent range of characters have been announced, they will have had trouble getting hold of the initial figures, until now. Many adult collectors will have watched Thundercats and remember it. With animation and character designs like that, why wouldn’t people want toys of them? Most other franchises have been done to death in the toy market, but not Thundercats. It’s not as big as other franchises but it doesn’t necessarily need to be, in order to be successful. People say that it doesn’t get many toys because it isn’t a big franchise but it’s bound to stay small if not enough gets done with it. It could have gotten bigger if handled better and I don’t accept that it isn’t popular enough because I believe it is. Toys play a big part in keeping franchises such as this alive. However, I think it needs to be aimed more at adults for now. Action figures aren’t as popular with kids anymore and kids will tend to get on board with things that they’ve heard of as opposed to things they haven’t. The 80’s and 90’s were good for introducing new shows for kids but it’s a different time now and a lot more competitive. That’s why already being a huge franchise is so important now. Thundercats just needs to know what it’s current market is and it will be fine. Despite the delays and other issues, this may be the best way for Classic Thundercats figures to happen now. Mattycollector could have done it but now that it’s gone, it can only be Super7 so it’s a good thing that they have teamed up with The four Horsemen like Mattel did. I think we knew this when they took the reigns for MOTUC.
I emailed Super7 like it says to on that like and they replied saying:
“Comics and Cocktails will be receiving replacement parts to send to their customers.”
Finally received an email from BBTS regarding the Replacement Parts Booster, meaning they’re going to send this out to us anytime soon. Now the email specifically says to NOT REPLY if I want to get it free and ship to my address. Uhmmm, is there a way for the booster packs to be added to the Pile of Loot rather than just instantly ship it individually all the sudden?
I think they’re assuming since the shipping is free that everyone would want them asap, but their customer service is usually great, so i’d try calling or emailing them. But no, if they didn’t explicitly mention it, i don’t think theres a straightforward way to add it.
Just got the reply from BBTS. They said Super7 will ship it directly to us (using our shipping address) rather than go to the BBTS warehouse for them to have the Pile of Loot option. I guess we’ll just have to suprisingly receive them individually. Only asking because I have to pay extra for courier service (just for this!) as I don’t usually get them directly on-hand on my address.
I had to pay for my courier service too. Luckily I had several orders ship together so it was cheaper to combine the lot. Also fortunately the Booster Pack is very small so it didn’t cost too much. It is a bummer yes but I’m ok with it. I understand if others are not though.
Ach, that stinks, I’m sorry. Thanks for the info about super7 sending them out for bbts. It makes sense for it to be done that way for their partnership, but bbts sure made it sound, in every respect, that they would be receiving them and sending them out. It’s just a bummer that in a round about way you end up having to pay for something that’s supposed to be free.
