That symbol looks too much like a Lion and it doesnt represent all the characters IMO. Renibds me too much of Lion King for some reason
I just wanted to throw in that while I share many of the concerns about the upcoming movie as the rest of you, I also understand that WB’s main objective is to make money.
The other thing I wanted to say is that even if the new Tcats movie is the biggest crap ever to be shown on film, would that remotely change the awesomeness of the original cartoon, the action figures, and all of the other things that we love about the Thundercats universe? I think not.
Honestly, if the movie isn’t good and “new” fans are disappointed, they are missing out. WE all know what makes Thundercats what it is.

No but it would sure put a downer on things. Whenever I think of Resident Evil, I know that the games are absolutely amazing but that the films were “Eurgh!” rather like how the creators of Tom & Jerry must have been appauled to see the crap that was the new cartoon and the film. I’d rather Thundercats be well left alone instead of making a horrible film.
Not a fan of that logo either. Looks TOO lionish.. it’s supposed to be ThunderCATS.
And why not have Lynx-O, Pumyra, and Bengali along as part of the original remaining ThunderCat nobles? I’d be all for that, especially if Tygra and Bengali this time are acknowledged as full-blood siblings. Clothed or naked, it wouldn’t matter in the final cut. After all, this is a movie we’re talking about.
I hate that idea. Everybody knows the original Thundercats were Lion-O, Panthro, Snarf, Cheetara, Wilykit and Wilykat and finally Tigra. The other names were just added later on in an attempt to ‘spice’ up the show and it didn’t really work - I didn’t mind the movie. The more they did of Thundercats, the more spicing up they did to make it seem ‘new and improved’ (the animation, Ma-Mutt etc). The end of Thundercats just wasn’t how I pictured it to end, really, especially with Lion-O saving MummRa which, to me, killed off the evilness of MummRa as he was degraded to a weak pathetic mummy. Still, the only thing that really helped that work was the voice acting which was top notch all along. I just don’t want the movie to end up some ‘new and improved’ rubbish.
Nor do I. The above suggestion is just that, a suggestion, though it’s one I like. I wasn’t expecting anybody to readily agree with me. I only wanted to voice an opinion.
In the end, however, it might not matter to Warner Brothers what the fans think or feel. It will all come down to how WB decides to do the film.:bengali:
How good that it was rejected! It doesn’t look like the ThunderCat Insignia; it looks like a “this way to the lions” sign that you’d see at the London Zoo.
I have always been a firm believer in that there are certain shows and movies you just don’t remake / add on to. Willy Wonka is a prime example. I refuse to watch the new version with Johnny Depp. There is only one Willy Wonka movie, and thats the one with Gene Wilder.
In the case of Thundercats, I really don’t know how I feel yet. On one hand I am excited that the movie will be in CGI, and that we are getting new Thundercats stuff out there, plus I would love a new line of toys.
On the other hand, I am afraid they will ruin it as well.
The fact that WB hired Jerry O Flaherty, (the guy credited with making one of the most awe inspiring games out there) is at least a good sign that they are serious about this project. All I can do is put my faith in the guy to do right by the original story.

I believe what they were going for (and I don’t know if indeed they knew this would be the final episode when it went into production), is that despite Lion-o having the chance to have destroyed Mummra once and for all, he up held the Code of Thundera, and saved Mummra instead.
A massive and exhausting blow to Mummras mind and ego.
I don’t know how accurate this is, but I believe there were some “rough ideas” thrown around about a 3rd season to Thundercats, but I may be entirely wrong.
Some interesting news about the visual technology being used in the movie:
Jerry O’Flaherty, director of the new ThunderCats animated film will be presenting some of the visual development tools and techniques being used for the anticipated project during a panel at this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC). GDC is an annual conference where game developers come together to share and discuss ideas for game development.
According to a news article on GameDaily.com, Jerry O’Flaherty and Kim Libreri will be speaking at a panel titled “Challenges of Creating Linear Content in a Game Engine” in which they will be discussing issues such as animation systems, cinematography, editing, rendering and deterministic events within a game engine. The article also includes an interview with both individuals that further details the potential of converging real time in-game engines with theatrical films.
So how does this all relate back to the ThunderCats film? Basically, we are being given a small glimpse into the beginning stages of the film’s visual development. If implemented successfully, ThunderCats could be the first movie to successfully use the technology in an animated film.
We could also speculate that because the technology can be used for both movies and video games, this could possibly lead to the development of a video game when the movie is released.

If you are a video game buff (like myself), I am very interested to see how this affects the film. Imagine the ThunderCats movie being the first to use this type of technology in a film…it could potentially be amazing!
Well, this will be a historic first! Add a good script to the mix and we’ll have a winner, hopefully with Larry Kenney revising his Lion-O role. If he doesn’t, then he’ll more than likely do the video game that will doubtless follow the film.
Apparently the former art director for Unreal Tournament III is also working on the Thundercats movie.

And the news keeps getting better. Apparently the group “Digital Domain” is also working on visuals for the Thundercats movie. According to this news piece three previous projects that they have worked on are being nominated for visual effects oscars!

Next week, the techno-wizards at Digital Domain Inc. can get back to work perfecting the flare of Brad Pitt’s nostrils in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and the texture of furious fur in Warner Brothers’ new animated film ThunderCats.
But tonight belongs to three 2007 releases nominated for Oscars in visual effects: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Golden Compass and Transformers. The company worked on all three nominees.
The firm, which employs 500 in Venice, Calif., creates special effects, animation and other visual imagery for feature films, video games and TV commercials.[/I]

Thanks for putting together this petition guys.
It would definitely be nice to see the old voice cast on there but you never know. Take the new Transformers movie, there you had at least Peter Cullen for Optimus Prime but Michael Bay wanted “something different” for Megatron so no Frank Welker. Hopefully we don’t get that over here but you never know with Hollywood. I at least signed the petition and hopefully we’ll get more people to sign it as well. Good going with breaking the 400 at least!!
