It was dark, but it wasn’t going to be for long. If you remember Lion-O used sunlight to get rid of Mumm-Ra at the end of the episode. Pumyra knew what she was doing, take the sword underground so her master could safely retrieve it.
Not only did the show start early, but my scheduled recording only recorded the first minute for some reason.
Man Lion-O’s heart’s been broken again; this will really hurt when he has to face her again in the second season. :eek:
Yep my thoughts exactly , finally it makes sense why they ran into the mountain with the sword , which was a hopeless act from the first place … and better yet - why she suggested they should split and got “caught” right away. mum-ra used that moment to test Lion-O , and even after getting what he wanted he realized the fact he has feelings for her could be used in the future .
:o In other words, “hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned”.
I will say this.
What they did with Pumyra here is the gutsiest thing they have done with this new show. When I saw Pumyra throw that stone to Mumm-Ra, I was like “Oh man, the fans are going to be ****ed!”.
It is something that is going to divide the fans, but I applaud them for doing this.
Lets be honest, Pumyra was a blank slate of a character. The OS didn’t leave them much material. She was noble, sure, but all the T-Cats were. At the end of the day, she was just the other girl Thundercat, and she was so bland, they just wrote her out of the show anyway. There wasn’t really much of a character there.
This new version of Pumyra has carved herself a pretty nice place into Thundercats mythology. No one will EVER forget her now, ha ha.
I thought the same thing, but surprisingly the reaction hasn’t been as extreme as I thought it would be. 
She was under the influence of her need for revenge and the ASOE were only too willing to feed it.

Pumyra tossed it to him before she told Lion-O what happened to her when Thundera fell.
I did like that little speech that Wily Kit gave to Lion-o at the end. Plus we got to see her pick up the sword of omens, too bad it didn’t react to her. I could have sworn that in the original series there was a scene with her usining the sword and it worked for her and not Kat. I could have imagined it though, but I do remember an episode were the twins got the other thundercat’s weapons and were playing with them.
well that was a pretty good episode. I was spot on for the most part. The catalyst for the stone was Pumy-ra’s betrayal. Although I didn’t predict does not surprise me. Also, did not see vultaire “leaving” his people just like that. I was thinking that the birds would be destroyed, but the end result was the same, “vulture man” has arrived. Yes, the help did arrive. The dogs kicked major be-hind.
So Mumm-ra has 1 stone and the kats have 2. One stone up for grabs. Am I right?
Pumy-ra’s quite the little lady. Does she think she’ll be queen of the universe or something? we’ll they make quite the couple.
Guess she likes the tough, rugged, and dark natured type. Some ladies just go for that kind of a guy. I would think that Mumm-ra will dispose of her once she has served her usefulness.
Was she a plant at the dog city? I still don’t get how they knew she would be set free and join them, but then it’s a cartoon. For all those people who didn’t like her character change, you have to admit it’ll keep you coming back to another season.
I’ll say! When I saw that, I was shocked and couldn’t help but shout in disbelief. I thought that all hope was lost when the kittens came back with just the one fishman, but was surprised when the others came out of the Forever Bag to aide Lion-O. This was definitely a fantastic season finale.
If anything, I love Kit’s personality and overall spirituality in this series. She reminded Lion-O that despite his losses, he’s gained a lot as well. If anything, Lion-O is getting closer to unifying Third Earth’s nations to stop Mumm-Ra, much like Leo did ages ago.
I am definitely looking forward to the second season because things just got intense.
The season finale was action-packed indeed. ^^

I love the vicious kick that Dobo gave Pumyra at the end. Fitting that he was the one to punish a disloyal cat.
It’s different when an opinion is stated as fact.
Well, that’s certainly true. However…he didn’t state it as fact. In a later post he even went so far as to say as much.

They set Lion-O up with a potential love interest and then sink that ship during Story arc finale.
Now i’m back in the same position i was in after hearing how “Between Brothers” ended; I feel terrible about Lion-O getting hurt and I won’t feel better until i see him get closure (closure that i may never see).
Also like BB, i could’ve actually enjoyed this episode if not for the heartbreak involved in the plot. I would’ve actually liked that ending scene if not for Pumyion-O sinking.
Now that’s all i’ll think about when i see this episode or any other episode Pumyra was in; that she ripped out Lion-O’s heart.
I want to believe that in Season 2, Pumyra will be rescued and L/P will be back, but part of me is certain that that is just wishful thinking and likely won’t happen.
Bottom line is, you all may call this good storytelling, but i call it messing with the main character too much, they did the exact same thing to Goliath in “Gargoyles” when they made the Gargoyle he loved into a villain

I noticed that, too and I agree, it was quite fitting, seeing how Pumyra messed with Lion-O the way she did. I’ll admit, I didn’t like that Pumyra turned on Lion-O and serves Mumm-Ra, but after seeing it for the second time in the Pacific broadcast, it was apparent that her loyalty wasn’t towards Lion-O, when she said “I serve my king and my master.”
Still, it’s one heck of a ballsy plot twist if you ask me.
I liked Pumyra the most next to Lion-O. She just seemed one of the most developed characters…and now this happens. It really makes you reevaluate all her past episodes, trying to figure out how much of her was genuine, if at all. I knew Lion-O wasn’t going to end up with Cheetara, but I wasn’t expecting this to happen. Definitely not.
Now that it has happened, I think I can give the writers a little more credit. They knew that fans were expecting Pumyra to be Lion-O’s rebound love interest. It’s what I had expected. And the writers knew what a shock it would be to make her when they revealed she was a traitor. To me, it feels like the love triangle was partly used to set this all up and soften us up for a punch in the gut. So many fans wanted Lion-O/Pumyra since Lion-O/Cheetara didn’t work out, and they used those hopes and expectations to just make it worse.
I need to rewatch Pumyra’s episodes and see if I can spot the signs. Right now though, all of us need to start giving the show our support. Sign the petition, and be sure to buy the finale off of Amazon instant video once it’s released. The second season needs to be made, but it’s not going to happen unless we work for it.
