My only problem is it sounds like no Mumm-Ra, Ssslithe, Kaynar and Addicus yet again 
I was never really into ‘Villian of the week’ episodes in the OS either! 
Here’s hoping we see the main villians in the final 2 episodes 
I’m guessing it’s Lion-O’s love for Pumyra that finally reminds SS not only of the love he once held for his family, but his own humanity.
Yeah I’m not the only one that was thinking that.
I am wondering why it’s all up to Lion-O though, perhaps SS thinks the other Thundercats contain the souls of his lost family and plans on transferring them to his contructs (i.e. killing them). I like that idea better than Lion-O just running off again without the other cats, he should be above that by now. Should be.
The only reason I can think of why it’s up to Lion-O, is what he has been though. From losing his dad. Getting his heart broken and over coming that. And from what he has learned for the trials. He is probably the only one who understands SS. And the only one who can help restore him humanity. (I’m on my phone typing this out lol.)

perhaps SS will see how the Cats have formed a “family” of their own and reconsider his dark mission of collecting souls.
That’s a possible theory. I would like to see a couple of scenes when they have some sort of family moments.
I say this because I think we need to see the group interact with one another a bit more. Especially with the new addition of Pumyra to the group and the return of the kittens. If there’s one thing lacking with this group is more chemistry/cohesion with one another…it’s been a bit divided lately because of relationships, triangles, and such..we need to see them get back together as a family/team.
He may also try to connect to the mom he never knew.
I 'm suprised to one raised the possibilty that the mad “man” will be vulture-man . if you think about it , the skeleton robot thing has wings and overall really resembels a bird .
