The same figures with some added bits for 45 dollars is crazy-plus packaging will outprice many.
I guess jaga and grune will be revealed later this week as the line is the same as matty collector.
You could have done sooo much more Super 7 and you blew it!!!
They are Ultimates, out there for those who missed them or want more accessories, alternate heads. You will see more figures soon.

I want to be positive about this. I guess they are basically continuing the Mattel line, just with a little bit better attention to detail and more perks. For those who want redone figures of what they already bought or those who missed out (although most of them are easily available still upon a cursory check), you have that option. For those who donāt, you can keep your Mattel ones and they will fit in. Overall this is what I always expected to happen, but the rumors didnāt seem to indicate this would be the case. Iām happy with this direction assuming we see a 4 or 6 figure subscription coming very shortly of fresh figures.
This does mean that they arenāt doing individual ThunderCat bucks though - Lion-O will still be short and squat like Panthro. Jackalman is the same build he was before. I never really had a big problem with this, but I know some of you were hoping for better.
Iām loving the additional accessories, especially Mumm-Raās. The fake Book of Omens, the thundranium urn from āTogether We Standā, the Rosenkrantz Medallion (which isnāt pictured, oddly)!

Donāt count on it, the product pages say they come in window boxes, so weāre not getting the same vintage carded treatment that the MOTU ultimates got.
Man I though I would log in here after a few years and see people excited that Thundercats Classics is finally continuing. Instead itās the same old anger and disappointment on both here and He-Man.org. Oh well, I think itās a great starting point to reissue the previous figures with extra accessories and some fixes to things that people were annoyed with (shiny claw shield). So many people missed out on the initial figures or sold them off thinking the line was dead. Iām optimistic and excited, this is what we wanted! Supposedly Brian Flynn said that 16 figures are in the works for the next few waves. We know a Jaga and Grune are right around the corner, we saw them already. Letās see what else they can come up with before we throw our hands up and hate everything. Also Power Con is this weekend so we are bound to get more news.

I pre-ordered the Panthro (x2). My concern is when I blow up the pic, the paint looks less sharp, but I assume protoype? Iāll unbox one because holy ālots of hands and accessoriesā. My annoyance is I just bought another matty Panthro for a custom project and paid more than this. Ah well.

This is an easy way for Super7 to get product out there early and cover any collectors who donāt have the Mattel versions. I am greatly looking forward to the next wave, maybe weāll see something else revealed at Power-Con this weekend.
While I have and love the Mattel versions, I am tempted to pick up these Ultimates for the extra accessories.
What I am most happy about is that weāre getting the same line/style as before which wonāt be too cartoony. I love the details the Four Horsemen put into their sculpts. Canāt wait to see what is in store for this line. So glad ThunderCats Classics are back! Finally a chance for a complete and updated ThunderCats lineup!!!

I believe that Super7 is fully committed to getting everyone the entire team of TCats as well as the Mutants, or else they would not have spent so many months actively pursuing the license. If the purported count of ā16 plannedā is accurate, and assuming they will re-release all of the original Matty figures, my guess is that the Sweet 16 lineup probably looks like this:
Lion-O
Panthro
Jackalman
Mumm-Ra (mummy version)
Pumyra
WilyKit
WilyKat
Jaga
Grune
Cheetara
Tygra
Monkian
Slithe
Vultureman
Bengali
Lynx-O
That kinda leaves Transformed Mumm-Ra as well as Snarf, Snarfer, & Ma-Mutt in the lurch, but who knows. 16 is a good start. Personally, Iād prefer to have the core team spread out over several waves with secondary characters filling in the other slots in a wave. By my count, they have 80+ characters to pick from when choosing to make figuresā¦so they could keep this up for a great while.
The greatest challenge they are likely going to face is the variation in physiques of many of the characters. That may limit the character choices somewhat, especially when it comes to attempting to make any of the Lunatacs. Itāll be fun to see how they tackle those challenges as this iteration of the line progresses.
Glad Super7 worked hard to secure this license, looking forward to seeing all that they can do with the property!
Also, Moderatorsā¦do we need to create a new āSuper7 Thundercats Ultimatesā sub-forum? :biggrin

Your line up of 16 should not include the four Ultimates (or any for that matter). Brian confirmed there are 16 additional new figures being made. So deduct Pumyra, kit and kat and the list should look more like this:

- Grune
- Mumm-Ra
- Slithe
- Monkian
- Vultureman
- Chilla
- Alluro
- Tugmug
- Red Eye
- Luna & Amok

Got to say Iām a bit disappointed. Iām looking forward to new figures. These 4 are an easy pass for me. The accessories are neat, but the extra heads & hands dont do anything for me. I have the Matty set and at $45 + $23 shipping, I cant bring myself to buy these. If the other figures are priced at $45 Iām probably not getting any at all. It just way to much.
I would honestly be very disappointed if 5 of the 16 characters were wasted with The Lunataks. 
I would much rather characters like Mongor, Safari Joe, Snowman, Hachiman, Captain Cracker, Captain Shiner, Tuska Warrior etc.

Regardless, I appreciate the clarification that itās 16 new characters. That being the case, and assuming Jaga and Grune would be included in those 16, then the field is wide open as to the 7 other characters. My money would be on mostly well known secondaries like Hachiman, Ratar-o, Capt. Shiner, etc.. And by damn, they had better at least make Mandora at some pointā¦

I pre-ordered for a replacement Lion-O ouch that hurt the wallet and iām sure to get stung by a Stinger with customs.
16 figuresā¦does this include the 4 released or 16 additional does that included Pumyra, Kit & Kat.
I can imagine they count kit & kat as ā1ā figure, so iād like to think same for Snarf & Ma-Mutt.
I think this is excellent news as I already have the Matty figures and I really cant afford another pre-order at the minute with Snake Mountain and all my other S7 pre-orders, so I get to pass on these. Plus it gives fans who either missed out on these or bailed on the line chance to get them.
Unless Brian has specifically said somewhere else that these ā16 different Thundercats figures already in process in some form or anotherā donāt include the Ultimates then I think its open to interpretation whether the Ultimates are included in that number or not and when it comes down to rumours weāre already seeing many of the rumours such as six figure waves and starting over are turning out to be false.
